think part of that is the team not being good, but also the Will Wade mafia plays a part as well. If anyone says anything remotely positive about McMahon on here, this board torches that person and is sure to bring up Will Wade. It makes people afraid to say anything positive at all on here.

The fanbase is all kinds of fractured right now.

Lol. It is Wade’s fault that there is no energy around the program. This is comical. It’s kind of like President Obama, blaming everything that went wrong and his administration on George W Bush. At some point, it is McMahon’s program. Good, bad, and everything in between.

Here's a couple of LSU ones BTW. Brady 2008 13-18...Johnson 2009 27-8. Jones 2017 10-21... Wade 2018 18-15 2018. Those are big turnarounds just like I said. There are dozens and dozens across the nation over the years.

2 wins in the SEC to 8 wins in the SEC is a "big turnaround"? Good to know, considering what is happening this year...

This is true but MM is not a cheerleader. I'm not making excuses for him but he came in under dire circumstances. He didn't have time to deliver pizzas to the frats and sororities and kiss Baton rouges collective arse and beg for support. That's the administrations failure. The marketing is non existent. He's not a pompous used car salesman arse like Musssleman Oates or Pearl. Look around the SEC. Teams in the middle of the pack crush LSU in attendance. The men's basketball fan base is putrid and sad from what was amazing in the 90s. The damn 1st row of the 100s are 20 damn feet from the court. There are a ton of quick simple ways to fix some of this.....but yet nothing ever changes. Use Auburns model on how to design an arena. The crowd is on top of you. LSU could get the seating closer to the court next year without any redesign to the current seating. But they won't. They aren't gonna do a damn thing to improve the program

Can you fricking read? he didn’t say it was Will Wade’s fault, he said it’s the fault retards like you that attack anytime someone says something positive about McMahon and won’t shut the frick up about Wade. Ultimately it is the current coach that has to produce a winning program. Obviously he has not in 2 years, so there should be pressure next year to deliver or he should be replaced.

For a team that needs talented players desperately, we redshirt our supposed best recruit for this season. Why is that?

takes a decade to build a basketball program

No sir. Gates of Missouri built an SEC 4th/ 23 game winner in just his first season as head coach-- in almost miraculous fashion, he created something out of nothing last year!

How’s that working for him this year? He inherited an all-SEC player and combined him with good players that knew him and his system. Now they’re gone and he’s in the cellar of the SEC.

Easy to find the spoiled bitches in this thread. If you don’t like the current state of LSU basketball, go cheer for someone else. Wade is gone and McMahon is the coach. Deal with it. When they turn the corner don’t come running back to get on the bandwagon.

That’s a bit harsh. Fair weather fandom is what fills the PMAC when the team is good. He’s not a minority. Culturally it is odd for people to express strong opinions about the state of a program after admitting not even knowing there was a game.

I don’t pull for a coach. Never have and never will. The Will Wade crew obviously are big wrestling fans loving that male drama.

So, ten years and 3 coaches later, you are still so traumatized by a player not living up to his potential that you STILL cannot bring yourself to watch the game played by ANYBODY?

Wow, I guess you showed Ben Simmons who was the BOSS, eh?

But thanks for weighing in on a thread about two coaches you admit you have never seen their teams play!!!

He is hated by others.

There are a lot more here who hate the deification of Wade more than those that actually hate him. Most just want to support the team and coach we have without a bunch of blowhards telling us why we shouldn’t and why the administration was so wrong to fire Wade. And then there are the trolls that egg it on.

McMahon would be burnt at the stake if he "built" the program like Missouri.

Awesome. A 1 year wonder. They are the worst team in the SEC this year. Laughable that you used that as an example

Ain’t no way elite players were even considering coming to LSU.

So its easier to recruit to McNeese?
McNeese has no history in Basketball, to aid in recruiting. Wade had restrictions at McNeese.
Immediately he had them at the top of their conference in his first year.

Care to take a peek at his recruiting class for next year?

It’s a little bit better than what McMahon is doing.

Yes, they are bad this year, but they also made the tourney in year one.

Once again, they went to the tourney year one and have a top 5 recruiting class.

When I was young, and healthy, I'd take my now grown children and grand children to see CJ, Shaq, Rudy etc and it was a lot of fun. But what lost me on men's basketball was the Ben Simmons year. I haven't watched any college basketball, other than the Lady Tigers since then.

College basketball has become nothing more than a University G League these days. It is exceedingly rare to see a good player on a team for more than 1 season. It's just not fun anymore.

He’s not a “rah rah” guy

This team is lacking a few key guys but is playing very hard for him.
