I get the point that ranking on signing day is more important than rank in June. And ranking at end of year is most important. But, I'd rather be ranked in June than not ranked. I am guessing the team with the #1 recruiting class on NSD was ranked pretty high in June. And I'm betting the #1 team at the end of the year was ranked in the top 15-20 on NSD. I doubt being ranked #100 in June moved into the top 10 spot on NSD; and certainly did not move to #1 at year's end.

Sure, but without looking at the details and at who leads for the top uncommitted recruits, the team with the #10 class right now could actually be in a better position than the team with the #1 class at the moment.

There are certainly things to be excited about in this class and things, so far, have headed in the right direction, but there is still a longggggg way to go and a lot can change. The point some people are making is that now is not the time to celebrate our class ranking.

Wasn’t it top 5, or very close to it? I think last Summer’s theme after teams started catching up to us in number of commits, and passing us in the rankings, was that after the Summer camp circuit and the new evaluations most of our 3 stars would become 4 stars and we would pass those teams back up.

Of course by signing day the rankings were even less important.

1. The pro OS were saying ranking doesnt matter when we were 15.
2. Now they're pumping up about 3.
3. This class isn't finished and its not December or Feb so ranking right now doesnt mean jack.
4. I personally dont care about ranking as long as you get the right players and positions.
5. Even the people who are hard on O me included arent worried about recruiting. That is one thing he has always been good at. Even at ole miss. I care more about the on field stuff. That's the real criticism.
