Coach speaks from proper observation and reports directly from LSU players that Brandon just dosen't have the mentality for a quarter back!!! I have had this opinion for last couple of years. Dosen't mean Brandon Harris isn't a geat kid, because from eveything you hear he is. Just not a quarterback. Sorry

Lane Kiffin? Sure sounds like him. And no Saban wouldn't say this crap.. But Lane is possible.

Same Kiffin who said Alshon Jeffrey would be pumping gas for a living

I have no idea what the coach said or who was the coach but I will tell you what Sweet Daddy thinks : Confidence are you kidding me Confidence : Harris has more confidence then Cam Newton and that's bad no more then Trump now you know what I'm talking about .

Doubt head coaches are being quoted in any of these, as each team is handicapped by an anonymous opposing coach this way BTW.

I like this season-preview format with anonymous quotes from real coaches; it's been around a while. But it seems like if they are on the fence about a topic, they feel obligated to speak negatively because otherwise what's the point.

All you nimrods who want to blame conservative play calling must not have been concious over the last 2 seasons. You must have missed all the poor play by Harris and not seen his obvious lack of knowledge of the play book.

Sure let's just open up the play book with a QB who we have already had to "dumb it down" for. Stupidity.

I won't be so harsh, but I've never felt like BH is a natural quarterback. Maybe that's what the DNA thing means.

Your missing the most obvious one. The writer is making up provocative stuff and pretending that coaches said it.

The stupidest part of the entire statement is comparing the DNA/Confidence to Sims and Coker. Sims and Coker had never played until 5th year seniors. Where was their DNA/confidence at the same stage as Harris?

Coker was benched in his one season, they were not sure they were going with sims during his one season. So, how was it obvious they had the DNA/Confidence but harris hasn't shown it yet, therefore, he can't? So Harris can't develop and grow like them? so stupid and hypocritical of that coach.

There's a difference between Brandon Harris Blake Sims and Coker. Two of them were fifth year seniors

What bothers me most about this is that the writer thought it necessary to include an "anonymous" source.

As a former reporter, a key rule of responsible reporting is that if you have an anonymous source, you don't have a source at all.

Sir that is exactly what you are. Don't you have a rally to attend? And don't forget the matches.

So in your weird bizarro world, Brandon Harris, the starting QB at LSU in the SEC is not really a quarterback? The guy whose sophomore numbers were above average for first time starting "quarterbacks" in the SEC is, in fact, not a quarterback? And you have a personal connection to his teammates, who told you so? Is that really what you are saying?

Lol. Yeah, we live in their heads.

They think "we own their asses."

Be nice if ole Les would begin to change that this season.

Bielema.

• An AL coach wouldn't give a confidential interview, but then out himself by praising his own QBs.
• This is a bragger who feels like he can beat LSU.
• This is a revisionist who wants to excuse himself for losing to AL.

Why be angry at this? Hell...let me be the first to say, "Thank you, Anonymous Coach!" Now, this will be printed and taped to Harris locker, his wall in his apartment, his bathroom mirror, etc. If you're a competitor and that doesn't provide daily motivation, then something is wrong with you...

"Will Brandon Harris come through? That's a hard call. He's a guy that has tremendous talent, but he's got to put it all together. Why hasn't he? I don't know. I don't know the dynamics. But I don't think Brandon Harris is stable enough to become a Blake Sims or a Jake Coker. He doesn't have that DNA. He's not confident enough."

I don't see Sumlin saying stuff like this.

I'd usually agree with that, but given the circumstances with LSU/Chavis (LSU's legal filings have included shots across A&M's bow) and the mess he's got going on, I could see him being in desperation mode to do anything to help his team's chances, i.e. talking shite about an opposing QB.

To everyone saying it might be Kiffin, I agree that he's the kind of guy to say this sort of thing, but I'd think Saban would have a meltdown if he found out Kiffin was the anonymous source and was stupid enough to point to their two most recent QBs as examples.

I agree completely with the top statement. You imply that it was motivated by racism. In my case it comes from 30 years of experience watching young QBs fail in the SEC, and then seeing many of them develop into good QBs in their third or fourth years.

I'm hopeful that Harris makes a big jump this year. I think he will. I saw a lot of improvement from 2014 to 2015. I think he'll be an adequate QB this year, but I don't expect him to be fully developed yet.
