Harris isn't and has never been the problem. JJ and JL were not the problem. Crowton, Stud, Kraigthorpe and Cameron were not the problem. The problem is the grass eating, dyscalculic, cryptic speaking numbnut under the white hat.

They aren't getting quotes from head coaches in the SEC. In fact, I am very doubtful that they are getting quotes from coaches at all.

Why is everybody so butthurt about the comment? Its another man's opinion and Harris numbers somewhat proves his case. I like Harris and i have hope that he will get it together this season...but he hasnt showed anything worth talking about in 14 starts.

Yes. Harris has been the problem and he has said he didn't study the play book as he should have. The young man was forced toplay early and has struggled with reading defenses. Yet some of you apparently think that with a QB who is limited with experience and knowledge the answer is to "open things up". You can't do that.

I would rather let him mature and try to make progress instead of potentially ruining him by asking Harris to do more than he is capable of doing.

Some of you are so simplistic in your analysis that all you do is blame Miles when in fact all he is doing is playing to his strength with the RBs and running attack LSU has with this roster.

Sorry, but this is a dumb thing to say... The moment is now, and there's no time for Harris (or any other LSU QB) to mature. Nothing less than 11 regular season wins will suffice.

The coach in question could be just your average message board poster. Hell, just look at how many self-proclaimed "coaches" we have lording over The Rant.

That Harris from the Florida game was a baller. Just needs to cut down on the high passes , specifically on those short outlets.

Harris needs to print that shite and put it in his locker along with every other negative quote. I want him with a Chip on his shoulder

The better question is if Harris plays to his talent level will Les Miles trust him to make winning plays in big games

of course.

or will Miles go into his famous conservative shell and play not to lose

If Les has a QB he can depend upon, with protection that is dependable, he won't feel the need to be ultra conservative.

My feathers aren't ruffled by this at all. It's just fun to try to figure out who it was by using context clues.

Maybe you're right and the reporter just made up the quote, but here's what the article says:

quote:

The Lindy’s College Football Southeastern edition again features comments from opposing coaches on each team, and the section on LSU included comments from an unnamed coach on quarterback Brandon Harris and the 2016 Tigers

I'm not inclined to think he made it up because these quotes are part of a recurring article in which coaches from every team are asked for their thoughts. If that's the case, then the coaches could all very easily call bullshite on the whole thing if neither they nor a member of their staff were contacted by the writer. (This is also why I think they quotes came from HCs, not assistants -HCs are not likely to allow their deputies to make inflammatory remarks about other teams).

This is the year our offense explodes! BH6 will prove people wrong, as the coaching staff knows they HAVE to throw it more, and they will!

AT BEST, the quote is from somebody whose credentials are that he wears a whistle and frequents SEC practices. Any GA would fit the bill...
Don't care.

exactly - neither of them had taken a meaningful snap at QB, but somehow managed to play well their first year starting.

But be careful, the mob will come after you with their pitchforks and scream "fifth year senior" vs. "true sophomore." Never mind that Harris was an early enrollee and had two springs, two summers, two fall camps, and one season of games, all under the same OC, before he started last fall.

By the way, Sims was under a brand new OC the year he started, so he didn't have years to "absorb the system." And of course Coker was a transfer, and actually had the exact same amount of time under Kiffin that Harris had under Cam before he started last fall.

BH has not proven himself to be a difference maker by any standards...certainly no marquee wins...he has not shown the ability to put the team on his shoulders and carry it to a big win...as a LSU fan I hope he does so in the future...I'm a Tiger fan first and foremost...and I'm from the "show me" state...so here's hopping that BH steps up this year and gets the job done...if not, it's next man up! Go Tigers!

Coach speaks from proper observation and reports directly from LSU players that Brandon just dosen't have the mentality for a quarter back!!! I have had this opinion for last couple of years. Dosen't mean Brandon Harris isn't a geat kid, because from eveything you hear he is. Just not a quarterback. Sorry

Same kind of stuff was said about Kramer Robertson in baseball before this year. "Been here two years. He's proved he's not LSU material." All SEC this year!
