Well that rain delay is coming real quick.

They called Mike Slive who called Nick Saban to see how he wanted them to play it.

It’s like he was telling Morgan “there’s the ball” and then turning to the runner and saying “there’s second base” lol
Haha…it totally looked like that

The rain is moving pretty quick. If the field stays okay they can finish the game tonight. But it's gonna be an hour and a half or two hours.

I just don’t understand what rule puts the runner at first.
It was either a live ball or a foul ball. Ump signaled foul, it can’t be reviewed it’s foul.
Ump says he signaled fair (he didn’t, but eventually did), then runner should be at second and can’t be reviewed
I don’t get it
I honestly don't know if there is a rule about it, but it's kind of like an inadvertent whistle in football. Can't undo it, gotta stop where/when it happened.

Hilliard is not on tonight
Posted on 5/13/22 at 8:43 pm to Tigerwm23
He has pitched fine. McManus screwed him.

It’s the rain
Hilliard was on to start the game

I think it was intended to be some sort of compromise that pisses both sides off equally.

He’s labored his last three starts but he still should have been out of the second without giving up a run.

Ump signaled foul

He was until a lazy catcher kept him out there a full inning longer than he needed to be. That was the last batter that Hilliard looked in control

He has 4 unearned runs and 20 extra pitches because of the catcher.

Nice job getting the lead runner on a really slow grounder. A lot of guys would have written off 2nd there and gone to 1st.

Field won't stay alright if we don't get off it and pull the tarp out

If y'all remember Crews against Texas hit a double that they incorrectly ruled a catch when it bounced off the wall, Crews was not granted 2nd when it was clear he would have had a double. He was granted 1st. So that rule and precedent has already been set that the runner is only granted 1B.
