A few golf claps at halftime from a few loyalists. He Probably enjoyed a cigar on the porch with JA reminiscing about WW firing and the good ol days when he did things with integrity; honor and class. Oh, and righteousness… always righteousness for Dale.

With lsu bb in the dumps, Dale can say how great he was as a coach. Dale could not stand lsu to have a real coach and winner. It's a shame that Dale has such a fragile ego. Well, at least we have a court named after someone who never even made it to a national championship game.

Dale's teams were probably paying out more “NIL money“ than the current LSU team pays out.

I have such mixed thoughts about Daddy Dale. LSU basketball was fun for a decade. It's when I was young and impressionable and was a time when LSU basketball was the best game in town.

That imprint on LSU Basketball - and me - is now tarnished by his ego as he aged.

I'm still happy he called the NCAA Gestapo Bastards.

I’d listen to his radio show. Towards the end of his career, people would ask why lsu lost a game, but Dale would instead go on a rant about starving children in 3rd world countries or his visit with Mother Teresa.
I just couldn’t listen to that stuff anymore.

Ironic he rolled himself out there vs Tennessee …… the opponent he was playing when he completely embarrassed himself and LSU “protecting” Shaq. That date cemented my negative feelings on Dale and began his very quick fall from whatever mountain he thought he was on. His last years were an embarrassment.

LSU has 11 total SEC championships, Dale has 5 of those. They have 1 SEC tournament championship, Dale in 1980.
23 NCAA appearances, 13 by Dale
10 Sweet 16, 5 by Dale
6 Elite 8, 4 by Dale
4 Final Four, 2 by Dale

And you WW fans still want to shite on him every chance you get.

Where are you coming from this morning bro?

Why can't we like and dislike qualities of both Dale and Wade?

Wade didn't cheat the proper way and Dale got caught too "draconian sanctions" - I hate that term btw.

Do you honestly think that if Will Wade had continued at LSU for another 15 years, he would have made at least 5 Sweet 16s? He would have far surpassed Dale, and probably not had his team shite the bed when they did manage to get to big games.

I mean look at this thread… you are mostly grown men calling another man “Daddy”.

How is he not supposed to have an ego with that

Some of you are miserable humans and really really need to get off WW’s dick. The man wrote a check out of his personal checking account. Daddy Dale produced some of the best (and worst) lsu basketball moments ever. Including bringing in the best lsu ambassador ever, Shaq

Dude, that's a simplistic thought. It's just a moniker. We've had an LSU player nicknamed Booger. How does that make you feel?

It's mainly that I have seen this a lot since Wade has been around. And I liked Wade, I didn't love Dale but I don't pretend he didn't do more for LSU basketball than anyone before or since.

Dale got caught up because of a frickin Lester Earl and was actually cleared by the NCAA, as was Johnny Jones. Wade was caught up because of Wade.

There is absolutely no evidence or reason to claim what you are claiming here. Just a ridiculous claim. The bed was shite in big games with WW pretty regularly

Dale Brown is very unlikeable. Take his name off the court.

Until then, Les Miles field.

Nice stats …… care to promote Les Miles in the same manner? Quite a few accomplishments he had huh?
Also ….
25 years …… 10 NCAAs
5 years ….. 3 NCAAs
I’m not good at math but ….. seems 1 ratio is better than the other

I agree and I'll say LSU Basketball fans eat on each other for meals. Dale took so much heat when we were actually fun to watch. You have "fans" on here that believe the Bobby Knight story. I could get into this forever, but I'll digress.

I will say this, Dale pissed off the NCAA and I think we're still paying for it to this day. He got us on probation. LE, Roy Williams and the NCAA can just go frick themselves.

Being an LSU basketball fan means you either accept all their bullshite or you rebel. We've seen where this fanbase has gone in less than a year.

Really? I always thought him comparing the NCAA to a group that committed the atrocities that the Gestapo did under the Nazi regime to be irresponsible and insulting to those whose lives were taken by that heinous regime.

He absolutely could have chosen dozens of more appropriate analogies, but Dale IMHO was as much about theater and vindictiveness as he was about philanthropy.
