Another one that can't read. You and Kiwi giving each other head this morning?
quote:
I’m more concerned about BK
THAT is the point of the entire OP.
quote:
I still think he can coach, and who thought Sloan would be this bad?
Well this is where we disagree. We know what Bk is.

OP hit the nail on the head. Honestly our past Head coaching hires has been a joke, most fans won’t acknowledge this because they love getting that one chance to say Ha Ha told ya so when a coach like Ed O or Les miles catches lightening in a bottle for one year or winning a Heisman when your team is not even relevant that whole year. It’s kinda like edging for 10 years straight for one year of of being able to talk shite on everyone else and say I told ya!!! Lmao

Yeah but your postvsuggests that we lost Underwood and we are the laughingstock because of it and it's all on Kelly. Further you blame Kelly solely for our woes and that is fair. But we are not the laughingstock....Michigan is for paying a kid close to 4 million a year......if he's any good.
But I suspect you would have no problem if we could match or better that price....few on this board would if we are being honest.
Our biggest problem is that we never think that we should pay the cost for past mistakes . You do realize that we did put Kelly in an undeniable position in 2021 when we hired him. He as in the hole 40+ scholarship players.
You don't get top notch players from the portal unless they are QBs generally.... and I would argue even that is a crapshoot. Your getting guys who were second string at other D1 schools.....that's why they are transferring because they think they can get a shot. Kelly said he wanted to build via recruits after last year.

LSU is still a Top 25 program.
10 teams are probably laughing. 9 are SEC schools and the other is Michigan. The vast majority of programs wish they had LSU resources.
Stop with the “laughing stock” crap

I would say that maybe the fan bases are, but not the admins. At 10-12 million, you gotta scramble to find sugar daddies who will carry that freight for you...and act as paymaster to an extent.....and since college athletics does not exactly operate as a sane business you have an unknown management paradigm driven by outside forces like agents for coaches and agents for players making deals via 3rd parties associated with the official user - the university.
You have buyout and guarantees for coaches, payments to players and a wild west set up via the transfer portal. Throw on top that because of the sugar daddies you have outsiders who may be willing to up bid thereby making the ability to work with some sort of coherent mission next to impossible.
Who pays the kids
Who pays the coach
What's the overall operating budget that you must stay inside?
What's your revenue at the stadium?
What's your revenue from the league
It seems that if there are shortfalls, the coaches and kids get blamed and the AD goes put to beg the donors who cannot define what their return on profit is or what it looks like. But they fork over....but will they fork over to keep paying for 3 coaches?
So you are running a business where you are paying guys not to work. And the guy you got to take their place hits you up for a guaranteed contract wherein if you fire before the term is up you are left paying him an exorbitant fee. Your fresh talent puts you into a bidding war yearly and you are reliant on investors who really don't see a monetary return on investment as individuals. Ex: is Cane's profit margin all that dependent on whether LSU is winning or losing? Is Ochsner's. Maybe being able to measure the size of your dick compared to other guys is a good
payoff....until you get diagnosed with high blood pressure and you start taking Norvasc (Amlodipine) so what are the oil baws who give, give, give to a rabid unrealistic fanbase going to see as a tangible payoff and they want to keep paying for their mistakes?
Blame Kelly all you want. But, he's not near the problem you think he is.....neither is Woodward for that matter although he's probably more culpable but he's a victim as are other ADs of an undisciplined environment.

I doubt folks think about LSU as much as we do.

Well, no. We haven’t been relevant in five seasons (and counting). Our HC is a complete fraud, our OC is a functional retard, and our DC can’t figure out how to minimize a novice, mobile QB.
We have a serious coaching problem. When more recruits bail and leave us holding our sacks in the next two weeks, we will slide further into mediocrity

Now? That’s hilarious. Lots of people been laughing since the ref induced escape from S. Carolina. Last year’s team minus Daniels was a 6-5 kind of team. Kelly is a bust. I’m hopeful he stays so i can keep making money.
Posted on 11/22/24 at 4:07 pm to The Eric
Top 25? Strangely enough I can’t find then in that list. And is that what 100mil buys? An insincere redfaced jagoff yankee? I’ll pass

We are in an average position at best. We are not loaded.

They may ultimately laugh at Michigan for paying a kid that much money until somewhat proven
Posted on 11/22/24 at 4:13 pm to EZE Tiger Fan
Y'all need to relax. Brian Kelly has proved that he can go into the portal and find a QB and has ALSO proved that he is a good judge of talent at the QB position. I'm not trying to carry his water, but take a step back from the ledge. Its going to be ok.

Maybe they are laughing at what a miserable group of fair weather fans we have. Pathetic post.
This board makes our fanbase look totally pathetic. I’ve never seen so many self loathing pussies.
OMG we’re broke!
OMG it’s the LA economy!
OMG we’ll never win again!
No shite the media piles on. The catastrophe syndrome here is very real.

I'm glad you're enjoying our struggles, but we're not a laughingstock.
Just as unexpected bad things happen in CFB, so do unexpected good things, and only time will tell what actually occurs.
Step off the ledge friend, we'll be fine.
