Stetson Bennett was a threat to get a first down with his feet if you didn’t account for him.
Like I said I’m not arguing with a guy who says this when Stetson Bennett literally won two natties and had pretty good rushing performances in them.

Bring back Ensminger!

It’s our Center and Guards that aren’t getting a push. They get blown up occasionally too and wind up in the RB’s face when he gets the hand off. Now we have had some success running outside the tackles but we need more outside zone runs to open up the middle.
If you are going to run the ball out of the gun instead of the pistol, the RB has to be patient and find the creases. Jackson hasn’t been good at this. I would give JW and Johnson more carries if we aren’t going to make any schematic changes. JW actually hits the crease faster than Jackson when we do create one.

We are a great pass blocking line, you cannot tell me these guys aren't ultra talented. Are they not being taught run blocking skills? Is the Center making that much of a difference? Are our running backs just that slow and bad?
Our running plays are like a magician that doesnt do his tricks well. Our RPO schemes rely on tricking the defense to some degree and it is not working. To run a RPO the OL cannot charge upfield to block until the ball is committed to a run. That is why we do not blow em off the line.
Another issue that I heard Richard Dickson mention on Hannigrif’s podcast this week is we shift the receivers in tight and hence clog up the running lanes even more. He said this was a Denbrock carryover.

Im sure you know they remove lost yards due to sacks in their rushing total, huh?
well if they had the pocket awareness of nuss they wouldn't be getting those sacks.
They ran in key moments....just like Nuss will do more and more. Nuss isn't running a 4.4, but he can be very effective with is 4.8 and showed a little flash of that last night, and got down at the end as well. I believe you will see this starting next week, if the coaches want to win, they will let him run it 4 or 5 key times a game, sometimes scripted, sometimes not. He is capable.....if he gets hurt that is part of it.....if we want to win, he is going to have to. Also, we need Hilton back bad to get some speed...seems Lacy and others are all good solid possession recs.

through 2 games Nuss has not had 1 designed run lol

again, no one ever said he didn't run and had the ability to run. I just threw out that he ran for a total of around 200 yards in a year...which is around 15 yards a game....I have been doing this a lot longer than you. It is all about timing with these guys, when they pull it down and run, which makes the difference....Nuss has the athletic ability to do that. You don't have to be a 4.5 guy to see a lane and take off, and I suspect to see him doing it more and more as he gains experience. It is almost like he has now started 3 games. I expect we will see this some at SC next week.

show me where i said that he did?
I said he will need to do this 3-5 times a game going forward, in key moments...if we want to change things up and win games. We stick what we are doing in our run game currently and we will be 7-5 at best. SC has a good DL....I hope our OC and BK can devise a good offensive scheme for that.

You do realize Bennett ran sub-4.7, right?

Our running backs are that bad

Our O line seems to be very capable of blocking for QB giving Nuss time to find open receivers. Our O line does not seem to be able to move the opposing defense off the line to create gaps for the back to hit and establish a running game. If we cannot establish the run against Nichols, who can we run the ball against? Just asking? It does seem to be a concern going forward to SEC play. If opposing defense knows the QB is not a threat to run the ball and RPO are really just going to be a pass then, it is going to make things very predictable especially if we do not through over the top for a deep passing threat.

Why does keep commenting on all these other football teams when you have admitted that you don’t keep up with college football?

I don't keep up with Oklahoma State.....I do keep up with the SEC...completely.
Also, did you put that $100 down on the OSU running back? You can get him for +12000 now on a 100 bet.....LOL. He put on a show.

OL is flat out playing with bad technique. Getting forklifted by Nicholls players is a bad look. Pad level is the problem.
DL is undisciplined and jumps out of gaps. Perkins jumped out of his gap on that long run and Ahmad Breaux completely took himself out as well.

We had Diggs but coach ran him off by wanting to split his reps with a mediocre running back Josh Williams

It's a combination of things and it's not entirely the O line. It's scheme and personnel. Nussmeier is not an RPO type of QB, he's a passer who will run only as a last, and I mean, last option. Running backs are taking too much time in deciding where to run. Scheme is hurting and formation is telegraphing where the run if it's coming is going. If I see Taylor on a wing in a running situation, I'm thinking run

Almost no team can. In today’s game, if a team wants to shut down your running game they will, except towards the end if they are tired.
Then why did Nicholls drive our defense off the line all night?
