UGA academics vs. LSU academics depends on which degree program is considered.

One example: LSU chemical engineering >>UGA chemical engineering.

I have an LSU education. Can you not write the OP like you have an UGA education and maybe write it like you have an LSU education so we can understand it. TIA.

WTF. At least they are in the East. And gonna suck to tiger bait him when LSU meets up with UGA in the SEC championship.

It happens. I am actually an example of this. I’m from Memphis and most of my family are UT fans. I was accepted there and had a scholarship lined up for marching band and music, but they were pretty stingy and didn’t even cover all in-state tuition for any band members. Knoxville is 6 hours away and it was going to be expensive for my parents.

LSU had the better program, gave me a full ride, TGBFTL pays a small stipend and then I got another one as an OOS student. BR is also right about the same distance from Memphis as Knoxville, so that wasn’t an issue, either.

No way I was turning that down. I was hooked once I got here and the rest is history.

No it’s not. This is a huge myth based on the college rankings that woke liberals put out to reward woke universities. .

I must have missed the part where UGA was in the Ivy League. And LSU kicked UGA’s arse 4 of the last 5 and owns the series.

You think higher of UGA than their fans and alumni do. I work in Athens and my wife went to UGA, being so familiar, I have no idea why people in Louisiana think it’s some sort of oasis here. Plenty of people here think LSU is a badass school and love that I went there.

LSU grad here. Wife is an LSU grad (pics available on request) We are trying to convince our 10th grader to attend UT or (ugh) 8&4. Ironically she has her sights set on LSU.

Her backup school is Harvard.

You are a dumb alum then. My undergrad and mba from LSU says otherwise in the real world.

the original poster has been an offensive guard at LSU since 2005, had a kid around that time, and said kid will be attending UGA this fall.

This sounds more interesting than reality.

It is very competitive to get into UGA as opposed to LSU. That is indisputable.

Go to UGA if you want to major in art, sociology, English.
Go to LSU if you want to major in engineering, chemistry, health sciences, business, architecture, or journalism

You think that is bad? My Grandson accepted an academic scholarship to UAB Tuscaloosa. They all stopped by with their Alabama "T" Shirts last weekend.
