umm yea, cause you have zero leverage. they have no reason to pay you, still unproven.

They 1) would take him later in the draft or 2) Yes, he would take WAY under slot because he has to do so. No other option.

4th round slot value is $570k-$430k. And teams don’t offer full slot to 5th year seniors.

It’s a business, they will pay you the least a mount of dollars they can.

I wish y’all would stop talking about leverage. The best way to get more money is to play your way into a day 1 pick.

Kevin Kopps from Arkansas had no leverage last year, he got picked in the 3rd round and got only $300k in a slot worth about double that. He was lucky to get even that.
That was after one of the most epic last years a player could have in college baseball. He had 0.89 ERA over 89.2 innings with 131 K's to just 18 BB.
