bad for TV outside of the SEC

It’s already a regional sport. 14 of the 16 host sites are from what could reasonably be considered the South. People up North and out West already don’t care and won’t watch.

South Carolina has won 4 games since May 1 and are 39-19. It’s not hard to argue against them.

Yeah, I don't get it. South Carolina dropped their last 4 SEC series.

Edit - South Carolina did beat Georgia before dropping the next 2.

Since splitting the series with LSU, South Carolina won 1 of their next 6 series.

yea I think Campbell should've hosted over SC. Campbell has an impressive resume and any host should be scared if they draw CU as a 2 seed:

14th in RPI
13th non-conference SOS
only 3 losses to non top-100 teams
Wins: CCU, ECU 3x, @UNC, UNCW 2x, @ULL 2x in Q1
20-9 away from home

think there's a very real choice they go to USC or Clemson, maybe Conway and wreck it up there. Doubt the committee would punish Wake by sending CU there

The argument for Carolina is “body of work”, which is fair. But the entire month of may is part of that body.

It wasn’t a 2 week slump for them, they’ve been awful for a while now

I'm sorry, but that's absolutely putrid. We would be losing our minds if we ever finished a season like that. And their reward is hosting?

That's a long time of not winning much. You'd think they'd have needed to show something Hoover. Neither game was even competitive.

ISU is 2 and 9 against the top 50. The one win against Vandy moved their RPI 10 spots. They are behind A&M in every metric but RPI. They have a great OOC SOS but barely won any of them. It should have been USCe and Campbell.

South carolina has 3 hosts, texas has zero

There was a point this season where it looked like the Carolinas could have half the hosts (ECU, UNC, Duke, and Campbell will all be 2 seeds).

Here’s the reasons to play the early game:

A) you have less chance of being stuck waiting out rain delays until late in the night

B) you get several more hours rest than the late game teams

C) you make more money in concessions. LSU fans will take off of work and show up for game 1 if LSU is playing in it, then stick around and have a decent crowd for game 2

I'd all but guarantee Campbell is headed to South Carolina.

All those wins were midweek except ULL. It was a great advantage for a strong offensive team not to face weekend starting pitching. Those wins also don’t compare to series wins over Clemson and Florida and the last 4 wins you listed are only comparable to series wins over Georgia, Missouri and Miss St. As to losses, SC had only 3 outside #51 and only 1 below #67.

chances are we will be matched with an SEC school in the Supers

Chances are whoever LSU is matched up with the 1 seed isn’t going to win it. Seems to happen every time.

Was Coastal Carolina projected as a top 8 seed prior to the Sunbelt tourney….and does getting hosed by ULL change that?

How the heck did Auburn get a host?

Because Auburn is a good baseball team.

This doesn’t excuse LSU losing to them at all but that series loss was not nearly as bad as people made it out to be on this board.

A little perspective:
We’ve took 2/3 from from 2 hosts (split with ark if you count Hoover)
Swept a host
Split against a host (2/3 if you count Hoover)
Lost 2/3 on the road to a host and shoulda won the series
LSU is good

8 out of 16 ain't bad.

Now did any other SEC school qualify for the tourney? It's odd seeing A&M and Tennessee absent from the list of hosts.
