Last night was different.

No it wasnt. All it takes is minimizing the damage and one pitcher finding a bit of a groove. We had already shown we could score.

LSU baseball last night looked grim after the first inning.

Good thing there were 8 fricking more.

and after Dugas' blast in the first Tiger batters weren't doing anything.

Yea, AAAALL the way until the 4th when he went yard again and Bianco singled.

Yeah, I'm in this

I wasn't sure we'd get in, and figured we'd be the sacrificial 'name' used to annoint whichever Pacific Northwest team emerged (before they got their teeth kicked in by Tennessee).
And after game 1, it seemed the case.

I harbored the fan's hope that once we got past everyone's frontline pitching, we'd have the most talent in the region; but I figured we had run out of steam just finishing out the SEC season.

I was right on the first case, and it looks like I was way off on the second. And it's a great thing to be wrong

Checking in. I didn't think we had the pitching to keep up with them once we went down 5-2 last night. Glad that I was wrong.

When we lost to Gonzaga, I thought we were finished due to the fact that I didn’t think we had enough arms to come out of the losers bracket.

I don’t post on the Rant nearly as much as I used to so I really have no crow to eat in that regard. I will say though that I’ve been very frustrated at times over the last few seasons and really figured we were done after Friday night. So happy to be wrong. Last night was simply awesome!! This whole weekend has been like a throwback to the days of old on the rare occasions when we had to fight out of the loser’s bracket. A blast from the past for sure.

Its the assholes that take it to another level and just shite all over the players and coaches and completely dismiss any chance at all of doing anything. Its baseball and ANYONE can beat ANYBODY at ANYTIME. LSU has the talent to beat anyone in the contry.

THOSE are the assholes that need to have their plate of crow shoved up their asses

Agreed. There’s no reason to be giving up in the third inning and resorting to that crap. Absurd when it comes to baseball and just not necessary in general.

In, like Flynn. I gave up last night after the third inning and was shockingly amazed this morning to find out the Tigers actually won the game!

I’m shocked

I’m here to eat crow. I did not believe we could turn more than 6 runs last night. Poor timing on pitching changes, Beloso sucking, ump’s strike zone, Tigers chasing bad pitches in the dirt. I could not fathom getting more than 6. I’m here to eat crow. Manieri, my apologies. But, please don’t play Beloso. Please.

Regardless of what happens, I am not happy PM did not retire a few years back when he started to have health issues. At this level of baseball, coach needs to give the tigers his full attention. That being said, I like PM and I am glad to see him not completely fizzle out in the end. I am happy for PM and the tigers.

Now, in the superstitious tradition of baseball, they are going to totally screw it up this weekend! No WAY LSU can win this weekend! ;-) Geaux Tigers

Winning 1,500 games doesn't happen by accident. I just wanted to get in the tourney. We have a young team.....

Same here. That was so demoralizing to not show up for that. In the end, I don't think winning that game would have made a huge difference. Maybe a 2 seed? Never know.

I didn’t post it here but I cussed CPM and this team enough on Friday and Saturday that it’s only right for me to join. In fact, I probably need a double serving of crow or some humble pie to go along with my crow. Of course, I am happy to be eating crow. Good job CPM and the whole team.
