Jonathan Decoster - Cleveland Browns

Decoster is a rising star, but he's not ready for this yet.

He's just a quality control guy.

I had hoped LSU would shuffle the staff around and hire him as TE/assistant OL coach back in January, but that didn't happen.

In addition to many of the names here I'll add a couple (without consideration to being able to get them- call it a wish list):

- Joe Philbin (Cowboys)
- Brad Davis
- Herb Hand (UCF)

Up & comers worth considering:
- Kyle Devan

I think mentioned above: Trickett (FSU). Expect to hear that name in the next couple of days. The hire, or heavy interest from the future hire, was established first.

My "please, please, please jump ship for us": Mike Bloomgren

I'd take decoster back as a tight end coach/ assistant o line coach but i agree he shouldn't be the full o line coach.

Dude is a hell of a recruiter.

and will also have made $100 million in his nfl career. A guy like that isn't going to be a position coach in college.

This has absolutely happened before Whitworth.

Rant logic is that LSU will sign him in 5-6 years after he’s inducted into Canton.

Love Mawae and he may end up becoming a great coach but does the fact his former pro coach had the opportunity to promote him to the full time o line coach and didn’t make anyone here stop and think?

Yes, not only that, but no coach in the entire country, NFL or college, has ever promoted Mawae as the full time O Line coach.

If Mawae really wanted to be at LSU he would be a better fit as quality control analyst.

Hes trying to say that Woodward already lined up the next hire before Paul said he was retiring, and hinting it was forced.

There's just too many dysfunctions in hiring and organization for long term success with the Captain.

Brad Davis. Name a single SEC West/SEC/National Champion or historical National Top Ten type program that he's coached OL at? (There aren't any)

By that line of reasoning, Cregg would have been considered for many jobs the last few years

I think a young guy who has worked for Sam Pittman the past few years has learned a little bit about how to coach OL.

Ok there were 3 guys that played part time or at guard. My bad, but Whitworth will be the first starting OT over 40 in NFL history. SMDH
