Nebraska is still looking 25 years later. It can end badly.

I think this whole “like a family member died” is crap. They are terrified of going back to the Dubose, sula, Fran and Mike price debacle. They know lsu, ole miss, Georgia, Tenn, mizz, Kentucky even Auburn aren’t going anywhere or have the opportunity to get better. Add Oklahoma and Texas….. you’re looking at middle to bottom without the right guy to hold the program together. That guy may be afraid to follow sabans footsteps. Time will tell

What are you talking about? Outside of a couple years (still top 15ish), Les consistently had a top 10 class. There were a handful of top 5 classes as well.
Miles was a missed FG (Okie St) from being the only 2 Natty LSU coach.

These types of people are very sad. There are plenty of LSU fans like this too.
Gumps and Lumps.

No Life outside of supporting their adopted teams.

LSU really needs to institute a "Running of the Lumps" before the Spring game.

Let em in at the South End Zone of PIMger Stadium and watch em sprint madly across the field with all matter of LSU Stuff for BK to sign jn the North End Zone.

It would be awesome!

She’s right they’re going to go hire Schumann and see if they get lightning in a bottle, if not 2-3 years hope there is a no brainer to hire.

After Saban got there they got to the Championship regularly because they were, by far, the best program in the country - not because ESPN suddenly became Bama fans.

All I know is that Bama got shoehorned into the CFP this season & it wasn’t what I would call “subtle” either. ESPN & its affiliates pounded the Bama drum 24/7 until the CFP announcement. There’s really no denying it.

I'm not denying ESPN personalities had opinions similar to mine.

Yea well what happened to Nebraska when Osborne left? They've never been the same.

Them leaving the Big12 and losing the Oklahoma and Texas pipeline for recruiting is what killed them. Pelini was decent there but they ran him off

leaving the Big 12 yes because they were no longer able to use Prop 48 players which Osborne had built the program around through the late 80s to what it was in the 90s...

Legit Bama fans from Alabama are extremely invested. Like cult level. They’re A&M level cult minus the rituals.

Bama fans more so view their coaches as Gods.

They take it extremely serious. 24/7. Live it breathe it. Crimson tide football is their entire identity. Sure LSU fans are big passionate and invested but I feel there’s a clear difference. Louisiana has an identity outside of LSU football.

Bama fans are not a cult like aTm. They are ignorant trailer trash who have nothing else in their life. They also lack the intelligence to understand that Bama is not God's gift to football and are all part of the "Bama beats themselves" group, rather than admit the other team is better and beat them. These fools all say about 19, "The only reason LSU won was because Tua was hurt"

It was almost that way for Bama... the 8 head coaches between Bryant and Saban lost 105 games and averaged 8-4 seasons. Saban saved Bama football from being Nebraska.

8-4.... maybe Jimbo is the answer.

Why is this on Tiger Rant????

Screw Saban
Screw Alabama

Screw that whole cult state.

I hope during the whole LSU Kelly era, Alabama is in chaos only to hire Shula's grand children as coaches.

You know damn well if LSU went on a run like they had, our fans would be just as arrogant. It’s human nature.

No worries. The SEC is still run, by and large, by Bama alum. ESPN is going to see to it that Bama will be in the playoffs annually no matter what. The SEC will continue to fix games for Bama weekly, if needed. Nothing is going to change other than who is roaming the sidelines.

I don't think that the SEC, NCAA, and ESPN were in love with bama the school, it was Saban. He was college football. Of course they wanted to help their living legend. He drew huge ratings. Some tuned in to root for him and most tuned in to root against him, but they all tuned in.

There isn't another coach in the world who can be that kind of draw. I don't think we'll see the SEC, NCAA, ESPN, etc. bending over backwards to help bama as much without Saban. But even if they do, in this new world of portals and NILs, I don't know how much it will help. Parity is here and it's here to stay. Programs will rise and fall but we'll never see another run like Saban had again.
