She won the generic lottery and is profiting from it. Screams jealousy to me. Life isn’t fair. Get over it people. Not her fault most of us are born plain. Good for her.

But the new flood of money — and the way many female athletes are attaining it — troubles some who have fought for equitable treatment in women’s sports and say that it rewards traditional feminine desirability over athletic excellence
Oh they're big time jealous.

And while the female athletes I spoke to said they were consciously deciding whether to play up or down their sexuality, some observers say that the market is dictating that choice.
Damned Marxists.

Race cannot be ignored as part of the dynamic. A majority of the most successful female moneymakers are white. Sexual orientation can’t be ignored, either. Few of the top earners openly identify as gay, and many post suggestive images of themselves that seem to cater to the male gaze.
Yup. That exactly.

Haley Jones, an All-American guard at Stanford, said female athletes nowadays have to choose if they want to participate on social media or loose out on what could be the biggest profit of their careers.
Journalism is where her real talent lies.

Its a fair point that its a concern…..but she knows that and is embracing it. And if she wants to do that and have a bunch of 50 year old men ogle her, then more power to her
She isn’t on onlyfans. She doesn’t make money because a bunch of 50 year old dudes ogle over her pictures on Instagram. She is valuable to companies because she has millions of followers that will buy clothes from a company she promotes on Instagram.

Same group of people that refer to actual prostitution as sex work and will defend it as honest work. But this is bad for women.

Hit piece when they told her it was just a nice cover on her and NIL. frick the NYT.

“Seven figures,” she said. “That is something I’m proud of. Especially since I’m a woman in college sports.” She added: “There are no professional leagues for most women’s sports after college.”
GREAT answer!
The news cabal apparently decided to target Dunn. The Daily Mail, a British rag, essentially wrote the same story going after Dunn et al a day ago.
Ironically, these same writers slobber all over themselves when addressing attractive Hollywood actresses.

Her response
This is nothing more than the expansion of influencer culture into sports. That’s been going on for years in social media, and it has always heavily favored attractive women. Are journalists really naive enough to think that wouldn’t instantly extend to women’s athletics as soon as NIL was legalized?

“Paige Spiranac is the most followed golf adjacent account in all of social media but some are concerned there is a lack of representation of gender fluid communist witches in the cleavage/golf influencer realm” - the NYT (probably)

Yep. Hags who were born without looks think it's unfair this college kid is making a million a year on her looks and personality.

It’s amazing how fricking stupid people can be. She is making money off of her name, image and likeness. The fact that she plays sports is essentially irrelevant. It’s just her showcase, just like some model clothes, decorate houses, dances, sing, etc.
This is basically them yelling at the free market, a natural phenomenon, operating freely.

Personally, I wouldnt even post the link...with every click they get there is more and more reason to do this again. Don't share it at all. F' those pieces of shite.

She had millions of followers before NIL and wasn’t allowed to profit from it. She’s the bomb.

It’s pretty amazing that a girl that fine worked hard enough to be D1 scholarship athlete. She could have taken the, “I’m too fine to work.” attitude…and she would have been correct.

Last I checked, she isn't having sex with anyone for money. And before they get on their soap box about "beauty sells" I want to know when was the kast time they criticized models, whether if be Victoria Secret, GQ Magazine, or whatever. They choose what they consider beautiful people because beauty sells. That's a big part of marketing. At least Livy Dunnhas a talent other than just being gorgeous.

She only has sex with Joe Burrow, which many of the guys on here would do as well.

Another case of women getting what they wanted, then not wanting it anymore.
