I would suggest reading Lonesome Dove first. The others are good books, Lonesome Dove is a masterpiece. You should experience it with a fresh palette.
A piss any kid loser started WW1 when he shot the archduke. They’re impressionable. And our messed culture feeds it.
Very fitting indeed. And also fitting to remember that the man who said those peaceful, love-filled words in Luke: they arrested him, spit on him, whipped him, placed a crown of thorns on his head, nailed him to a cross and crucified him. Evil in this world has always existed and will exist until He returns to defeat it.
Yes, all of those things influence arm injuries. One big factor is that a lot of kids don’t throw enough. They pitch a lot, but they don’t throw in between. So the only throws they’re making are high intensity without building strength. They show up at tournaments on the weekend and throw max effort, and that puts big strain on weak arms. Historically, pitch counts have been way higher than they are now, yet arm injuries are through the roof where they were fairly rare before.
Little League can mean 9 or 14
How young are you talking about? Do you mean kids that only throw off a mound when they pitch and never throw to condition their arm? Then yes, pitch count probably matters because their arms aren’t in shape.
I only got to catch the last few innings after he passed the 100 pitch mark. Every pitch he made after that was stress free, no trouble, and in complete command. I think that means more than the actual number of pitches.
There’s no known correlation between pitch count and Tommy John surgery. And nothing that says 100 pitches is some magic number.
My experience is if you do it right, you’ll need to spank them once to prove you’ll do it. Then the threat of it will keep them straight the rest of the time. I have a teenager and a soon to be teenager. It’s worked so far. As an example, when my son was younger and he was back talking my wife, I sent him to his room, took off my belt and slammed it on the bed very loudly. Raised my voice and pretty much scared the hell out of him. Told him next time I’d slam the belt on his behind instead of the bed. But I never had to use it. Just a mention of the belt now straightens him out.
The picture from Tulsi’s account that shows the flag removed was screenshot from a video clip. The clip was posted somewhere on TD, but I can’t find it again. The flag was still there, but you can’t see it in that picture because it’s blurry and the flag blends in with the background. But when the video moved, you could see it.

Sherburne squirrel question

Posted by Rubberbandman21 on 12/29/24 at 10:16 am
I bought my son a 20ga for Christmas and want to bring him squirrel hunting in Sherburne. But I don’t want to walk up on any deer hunters and spoil their hunt. Safety reasons too, since it’s open rifle at the moment. If I stick to the small game emphasis area along the river, should we be okay? Do people deer hunt that area? And if they do, I’m okay to walk through there hunting squirrels since it’s designated for that purpose right?
Exactly! 162 games determines the best teams. Isn’t that what people want? That’s what I hear all the time in other sports. Get the best teams in. This year’s Detroit Tigers are a prime example of why the new playoff format is bad. Good teams have good starting rotation, not 1-2 guys. The Pirates can beat any team in baseball in a 3 game series if Skenes starts game one. And they’re terrible.
I don’t think she did, and she didn’t need to. She has a ton of canned answers that don’t answer anything and the moderators don’t follow up. All it would take would be for one moderator to follow up and say “explain that plan a little more in detail” and we could all watch her head short circuit.
The only reason the CNN debate was “fair” was because the fix was in to get Biden out and they let him roast. They have their candidate now and the fangs are out.
0.760 is a hell of a batting average. Best ever. He probably should make the all-star game hitting that.
I agree. I was watching a Great Games on the MLB station on Pluto TV. Mets vs Red Sox in ‘86 World Series. It felt like they were playing with a pitch clock because the pace of play was so much better. We lost our way but the clock has brought it back. Didn’t think I’d be a fan. Still don’t like the pickoff limit because it influences stats that could be measured across eras.

We’ll find out a lot about this year’s team the next two weekends. Schedule is finally getting lighter. Maybe knowing that will light a spark for them.
