I don’t know why I bother with you, but Merrifield was pretty terrible at 3rd when he played there early in the season. He was defensive player of the year at Eunice playing 2nd. It didn’t translate, obviously.
And neither did his bat, apparently, as on a team desperate for right-handed hitting, he’s been nowhere to be found for like 2 months. Unless he’s hurt, Jay has obviously figured out he whiffed on him, he’s can’t hit at this level, and just ate it instead of forcing him into the lineup. Cranford is a terrible hitter, overwhelmed against SEC pitching. But he’s been playing a nice 3B, much better than Merrifield showed he could. And though he might be overpowered against SEC pitching, maybe he can catch up to Northwestern’s. Especially since they aren’t throwing their best guys.

I had a very close friend that I went to high school with that played for the demons in 2006 -2010 , I think he stayed 4 years anyway.
He was probably the best player on their team in his last two seasons. He was drafted by the pirates.
Curious if any of y’all would remember him since he played lsu a couple times and was a good player.
He was drafted in the later rounds by the pirates.
His name was chase lyles , project or boat would be the one to remember him if someone did. Boats got an unreal memory and project may remember him out of high school at benton as a recruit
