so whats are your thoughts on JD if your this harsh on that nuss throw?

As I've posted elsewhere, JD is a good QB in spite of being a horrible passer. Things I like are obviously his running and his competitiveness.

Both QBs threw a couple of good passes last night. Nuss had a bad deep throw, and Daniels had that horrible 4th down throw. The rest were childishly easy throws.

I dont really care who did what last night.I do care when we get to the meat of the SEC schedule that we have a guy that can at least hit the 2nd checkdown that can keep the chains moving.

People are terrified that the coaching staff is not going to put the guy in that they feel gives them the past chance to win. And understandably so considering our history the last 20 years.

But people can rest easy. The coaching staff is aware of everything you are and MUCH more. They know what they’re doing. We can trust the eyes making decisions now.

He showed resiliency and poise. He flushed his last game performance and threw with confidence and accuracy. Gotta love how he puts the ball on the WR so they can get YAC. He almost dropped that long one into Nabers, but that is a throw that will keep other Ds honest as he can go over the top at will.

CBK should feel he has two QB's that can lead this team, and keep us competitive. Now let's go over to AUB and take care of business. Stay focused, protect the ball (sustain drives), and play lights out D. We won't lose.

NM beat UTEP 27-10, and UTEP beat Boise 27-10, so NM can’t be that bad. Florida State appears to be a good team, but I think LSU is bettter, and today would beat them easily. I think LSU has found itself. Kelly has done a great job.

I agree. Daniels is both the safest option and the most dynamic which seems strange, but his scrambling ability provides that element. Nuss took a big step forward last night and I will say this from watching both. Nuss was much quicker in his progression and execution vs Daniels. His ball placement was also a little, not much better. I still see Daniels hesitate and slow to make decisions.

To Daniels' credit he hit more tight window throws tonight which is promising. He does seem to be trusting his self and WRs more. Nuss still scares me because he wants to make the big play and gets himself and the team in trouble. Daniels doesn't take enough chances. Right now, safer is better.

I think you can see how the QB competition was so close. While Nussmeier was likely leaps and bounds over Daniels in the arm category, the coaches are resting on Daniels seniority to get them through the high pressure situations and Daniels also has the factor of being at a sinking program for the previous 3 years.

Just look at the oline. If you’re not getting it done and there’s someone behind you Kelly feels can get better production, you’re out. He’s not scared to make drastic changes. Everyone should trust this staff.

Those kind of drastic oline changes O doesn’t make until probably Florida. And only because his buddy gave him a heads up or something

its like when we get into the redzone it all goes to shite

That's because the field shrinks and Daniels can't cut the ball loose when a receiver is open. It's like he doesn't see it.

Why would you think one bad game would make a player sulk and get into their head? You do realize these guys have been playing this sport most of their life right?

BK gets major kudos for taking chances with the OL and even though they still struggle at times, especially run blocking, it's easy to see the changes are working.

This really is the first time since little Nicky was here that I feel confident the staff will make the right decisions. They just have to get the ST issues figured out.

I think it’s a combination of not seeing them, and seeing them but being afraid to turn the ball loose for fear he will throw an interception. I do trust the staff, but man, seeing a QB throwing darts to our cast of NFL caliber receivers sure gets the juices flowing. I do not think we will see JD ever get to that point. Let’s hope Denbrock will work around that, and that JD doesn’t get broken in half when we start playing the big boys.

Or maybe.. we have really just dominated running the ball inside the red zone. It’s almost like some of you don’t watch the game.

He wasn’t fantastic. He looked fair. He had a deep ball that was an easy completion and he missed his spot by 10 yards. That ball should have been two yards from the sideline, not on the hash marks.

That - and there are many times when the ball needs to be thrown trusting the receiver will make the cut while en route. Many of the great completions are initiated when the receiver is 'covered' like glue. and STILL a contested reception but successful because the ball is EXACTLY where it is suipposed to be.

That takes a lot of synchronazation with the receiver and practice/practice/practice - plus precision on release and timing.
