I mean it is common knowledge we are currently thin at CB. If Max is going against the 1s and Nuss the 2s then good chance Nuss is going against walkons at the moment. Glad he is killing it though.

Have to realize that these scrimmages are not full game simulations. They are situational match ups as certain packages are still being installed. Short yardage, red zone, 3rd down. All of these things play into these stats, many times the defense know which play type is coming and they just have to execute. Also, trying to compare one QB vs another when they are playing against different competition, 1v1 and 2v2 is just silly. We will all see what type of team we have against UCLA, any guessing before that is pointless.

Max could end up being like a Mauck or Flynn

I'm much more impressed with his leadership & winning mentality

Nuss is legit at his heels. I think it will make Max better by kickoff in Pasadena.

Max completing 58% against the ones in a secondary that maybe be the best ever at a school named DBU. I’m tingling.

I would be too if our best DBs were actually participating in the scrimmages but it's a bunch of third string guys and walk-on at the CB position.

Joe averaged like 3ypc.

Those numbers are skewed, ESPN noted that when Joe decided to run, he makes a first down on a majority of his runs.

I predict Myles will be back for the Alabama game. Whether or not he sees action depends upon LSU's record at that point in time.

I rewatched LSU's 42-6 victory over Utah St from 2019. Was totally shocked to see Myles in the 4th quarter run 9 yards for what appeared to be a first down (it was ruled just short).

Incredibly Brennan had 9 carries for 41 yards, a 4.6 avg in 2019. Don't think he can't scramble and run with the football.

Its been said that Max has only played with the first team group, while Nuss has played with the second and third team groups. Looking at the numbers, It appears Nuss has also gotten more reps, probably due to the lack of depth at QB. So that may be why his numbers pop out more. Its been said that both QBs look very good, so I'll take those numbers with a grain of salt, as far as comparing them to each other.

Ya, he totally won that florida game with an awesome drive at the end. Max Johnson is a beast, but yall really need to chill with the whole "HE WON HIS STARTS" bs.

Everyone knows about the shoe, but does he not get credit for the scoring drive earlier in the quarter after Florida had taken the lead and all the momentum? Too many people only looking at the very end of this game for reasons to belittle Max’s effort.

stats from scrimmages mean literally nothing. go look a joe’s scrimmage numbers before 2019.

the only stats i care about are 3rd conversions, red zone touchdown rate, and turnovers.

something else is causing that tingling bc our starters at cb haven't been playing.

The Advocate reported that Max Johnson has completed 58% of his passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns in two scrimmages. The report noted coaches confidence has grown in freshman Garrett Nussmeier, who has gone 29 of 49, six touchdowns and one interception in two scrimmages.

You can't discern anything from scrimmage stats, especially when they are often invented off the top of the head of the head coach. What a shitty and useless fake news article.

Do you think that after missing fall camp, Myles will be able to beat Nussmeier out for the backup QB position? Realistically, I don't.

I think Myles' career at LSU is over, for all intents and purposes.

I'm also guessing that LSU will be undefeated going into the Alabama game.
