Tell that to the family's of the 167K that have died so far and don't come here with the, "It's only old people that are dying!".

Terrible comparison you and everyone keeps making. Did they jump the gun, yeah they did!

No way a spring season will work
All the good jrs and srs will be getting ready for the draft and most of the underclassmen are not going to risk playing almost two seasons in one calendar year.
You can't have a meaningful playoff without all the Power 5's involved.
It's over.

SEC may play and have a SEC title game and maybe you could have bowl games against Big 12 and/or ACC and let USCe play Clemson and Ga vs GA Tech and Fla vs Fla ST etc

Stupid. So they will try to play in the spring. Will anyone else? Stupid.

I feel bad for the players. They are the big losers here.

More have died from the seasonal flu. 99.97% survival rate.

It's not the same for every person.

Neither is the flu, mono, meningitis, cancer and the list goes on.

I predict more players and their families will become sick when they leave the protocols of the team and get back out to the general population.

I’m a physician working in the hospital ICU with corona patients. This is not the flu. It is monstrous. Looking at the pictures of refrigeration trucks parked behind the hospitals tells you everything you need to know about corona virus. They cart the dead out of ICU in body bags. Even if you think young people can handle it better there’re plenty of those older—staff, coaches, fans— that will fill the hospitals as a result.

Big 12 will do what we do.

I think it’s for the best. That puts enormous pressure on the SEC to do the same. There’s too much corona now to get everyone back to school and in addition try football. Let’s see how we handle the disease spike from school reopening and then worry with football. Go fishing. Play golf.

People like you are worse than the fricking virus. How do you make it through the day, with danger lurking around every corner?

Of course you don't. We ignore the medical professionals and listen to our politicians and favorite bloggers.

We care so much for our players that we will put their bodies through 2 strenuous seasons in the same year with minimal recovery...

that’s not the norm. i manage a small company of about 70 employees before the virus. 3 managers had it, 4 hourly employees. 1 manager was sick for 5-6 weeks (could barely talk), one hourly person missed about 10 weeks and was hospitalized for a week then had an oxygen tank at home for another week. his rehab when he was well, was walking outside for 5-10 minutes at a time which he could barely do. all of these people were in good health.

i think they should try to play with similar testing to mlb/nba, but to finally get ahead of this thing we need to stop the arrogance of acting like this is nothing and playing doctor. let’s get real.

That is factually incorrect, flu deaths have run pretty much between 12,000 to 60,000 for the last 10 years or so per CDC statistics. And that is with a vaccine and how to treat it. Flu's don't run threw the summer the way this has.

Now my post has nothing to do with whether the SEC should play or not, I only made it to correct the record. This is not like a flu and I am still of the opinion this could be a Chinese Communist bio-weapon that got out and now that it got out, they are useing it as a test run to see how the USA and other countries deal with it vs. themselves. My view at least 10% probability it is a Chinese virus engineered in a bio-weapons lab and they were working on a vaccine for there own people and the damn thing got out and now we have all this crap.

Think they decided to “postpone” rather than “cancel” to prevent member schools from playing in another conference this Fall?

That doesn’t make any sense. No one‘s gonna play spring and then play fall 2021

They are doing this to attempt to keep their teams from playing a season with another confrence, they will also postpone/cancel the spring season because there is no way a senior or junior that is going to the NFL will play a spring season

Actually, there are many medical professionals advocating for school opening and for football to be played.
