I was 16 years old, working with my dad on a remodel, listening on the radio. It was a great game.

I was there. Freshman at the time. Incredible game - suffocating defense.

Lost my “The Year We Beat the Bear” T-shirt some years ago

I remember having a “We kicked Bama’s arse 20-10” t-shirt after that huge win.

Didnt get to enjoy very many W’s against Bama in the 80’s-90’s. Made em all the more sweet when they happened.

My dad had Tigervision season packages, sent me and my buddy to fetch a Popeyes 20 piece, plus large red beans and a dirty rice. Back when they were served in a 32 to 44 ounce styrofoam cup for like $2.75?..

How did this work before cable boxes with Select Event/Pay per view?

I was only 7 for the 82 season.

That is my channel. Thanks for the love. I have about 400 more games between the big 3 to upload. Not all throwbacks to the 70s-80s but there are a few scattered in there. Next few games will be LSU vs Florida '04 and LSU vs Miami Peach Bowl beat down

I was listening to that game on the radio with my dad at home in Gonzales. He was so excited.
I’ll always remember that moment. RIP Dad!

Also, when Garry James played for the Detroit Lions, he and RB James Jones were called the "James Gang."

I still have my ticket stub from that year. Also, the players were given tickets to the orange bowl and my dad bought the one from Gary James. I still have 4 tickets and the envelope with his name on it.

Wasn't that his last season? Or was it the next year

That was his last season. Announced retirement in December, coached them to a win over Illinois in the Liberty Bowl, and died about a month later.

I forget exactly, and my dad did have a satellite dish too, with wild feeds..very well descrambled haha.

But, I’m almost positive it was very early Tigervision we saw it on? Paul Hornung was on with Jimmie Taylor, and still looked pretty good for his age..had an early 1980s set of blonde curls?

I’m positive he paid for it, because I seem to remember asking him about it, Tigervision wasn’t cheap per the day and time. And I think they had some sort of box by 1982?

But, Pops also had an excellent “big dish guy” that worked the descrambler like a champ, and also a Cablevision of BR inside guy..who knows?

In following games and years..Doug Moreau was on Tigervision game calls, and did a great job.

Watched this game in Thibodaux at a night club that was called “The Max”. They projected the game for every one and it was awesome. Those were the days! Bama had no chance that day.
