Freeman will be Notre Dame's Mike Archer.

“I don’t mean to throw shade”.. proceeds to throw shade. Dude sounds like he needs a coach up his arse 24/7.

Not sure why we continue to care about this.

Not clicking, but I assume players like their new coach. That is usually the case early on with any new coaching change.

Who we beat them at their place in the "Game of the Century", already that season. We "should" have beat them more easily at a neutral site.

Kelly won the most games ever at ND. That's incredible.

Kelly also lost the most games ever at ND, that's not so incredible.

Love when people say this. At some point, every coach had no head coaching experience lol

Freeman may work out well for ND. How many times have we seen a program hire a coach the players wanted and how well did it end for the coach. You start to see wrinkles in a few years then it tanks.

I looked it up. ND's strength of schedule over the past six years:

2021 - 21
2020 - 7
2019 - 16
2018 - 13
2017 - 9
2016 - 28
It averages a little outside the top 10 but is probably better than most people assume.

For comparison's sake, here is LSU's:
2021 - 19
2020 - 17
2019 - 2
2018 - 4
2017 - 27
2016 - 4
O sunk the program on, relatively speaking, "easier" schedules than the LSU is used to navigating.

Good luck to Coach Freeman and ND. He's not the coach of my team, so I don't really worry about what his results will be like. Far many times than not, teams are good because of the talent that has amassed, not solely on coaching. ND did well last year in recruiting, and obviously doing well this cycle.

I am old enough to remember a bunch of LSU players trotting over to a LSU BOD meeting to politic for the hiring of Mike Archer. That worked out well.
