Paul said he likes ND but he loves living in BR and being an LSU ambassador. He’s not going back right now.

Crazy to see Notre Dame head coaches leaving major sports for other jobs.

I think Paul needed to step away because of his health issues, but it should have been solely his and his family’s decision.

If you are performing poorly at your job and throwing the organization into a downward spiral because you checked out years ago, should your boss be forced to keep you until you decide you’ve had enough fun being overpaid to suck?

Make it make sense.

Two seasons removed. 2018 and 2019.

If you got to see the 2020 conference season please send me the video.

What would 2018 be. No seasons removed?

2018 is one season

2019 is two seasons

However you want to count it. He got us to the finals in 2017, which we probably win with Walker.

Then in 2018 we have a mediocre season and lose a road revenge regional. 2019 we host and win a regional and final victim to Martin’s farewell tour.

2021 we win a road regional.

First year under CJJ we manage to lose a regional from the fabled catbird seat.

I don't know if he wants to coach again, but it wouldn't shock me if it happened. With no personal knowledge about his thoughts, whatsoever, it appeared to me, just by his body language, that he was tired of the pressure cooker that is the LSU baseball head coaching position. He was captain sunshine and smiles when he got here, and by the last few years he just looked miserable. I know some have said the passing of his dad might have played into it, and perhaps that was part of it, or maybe all of it. I just got the feeling that the honeymoon was kind of over, and the stress wore him out.

There's not going to be any of that at Notre Dame, so I guess maybe he'd consider it.

Lsu forced his “retirement”.

If so Woodward should be removed.

Why? Maineri needed to go. Most LSU fans realized this. LSU had grown stale under CPM and his recruiting had severely fallen behind especially with Pitchers. Did you watch this Pitching Staff left for Jay Johnson to deal with? It's a minor miracle LSU won 40 games with the staff on this year’s team.

ND can have him so he can sell his home in UC as I'm looking to buy a house there.

Yeah, Paul gave us a lot, but it was time to move on. I'm still not sure if his "retirement" was entirely voluntary, but regardless, it was the right decision.
