That game was in the bag. Pitching is an obvious issue but I think one we can overcome. What’s disturbing is Jay just keeps trotting a community college athlete out in an LSU uniform and a very unlikable one at that.

Dude I rarely will call someone out but you are a fricking dick. Yeah the guy overran the ball, shite happens. He also hit a grandslam thursday. No one feels worse about the play than he does. How about supporting him instead of beating him up.

That last part is completely uncalled for. They need to give you a timeout for a week or so until you can act like a adult and not a spoiled bitch.

Why are you attacking the guy personally?

Last yr Pearson got better as the season went along and he was at the plate often since he was a starter.

JJ has stated a few time Pearson is a rising superstar, but he sits him behind Jobert.

Pearson may be struggling at the plate now, but like last year, he needs reps and will climb out the slump plus way better option in the field than Jobert. If JJ is willing to start a struggling Kling then he needs to start Pearson.

Alex Milazzo is a bigger offensive threat than Pearson right now. Let that sink in.

If the pitching doesn't improve you needn't worry about TD Ameritrade. You can't Johnny Whole Staff your way to Omaha.

Catching defense outweighs outfield defense. He handles the ball on every pitch. You don't start outfielders with so little offensive threat. If you're going to think that way, just start Stevenson.

Ease up on the kid. He's brought many high-five moments since being a Tiger. He had a bad night but he'll bounce back from it.

A rather huge error. He didn't lose it in the sun, he overran the ball. He relocated it way too late.

Ok dial it down a little, Dr. Phil.

He did more than make an error. The error was a routine play and any SEC outfielder should make it, but everyone knows he is a terrible defensive player and Johnson chose to have him out there. It is what it is.

He then compounded it by running into a tag at 3rd which is 100% on him and is absolutely unforgivable. People on here shite on the travel ball stuff all the time, but those kids and Jobert himself are taught what to do in that situation from the time they’re like 8 years old. It can’t be explained away as a simple mistake, it was completely within his control and is one of the most basic fundamentals of the game.

Infielders are supposed to use their body to block a ball if they can’t get the glove on it. Sometimes those balls take unpredictable hops or just get on you real fast and have some swerve to them.

While a clean play would have been nice. It was not as bad as an outfielder misplaying a pop up

This is stupid. He has a very good bat. What makes him unlikeable? The fact he misplayed a ball? Jesus Christ grow up. I bet you have made many mistakes in your career. Its baseball mistakes happen GTFO.

Didn’t tanks miss that routine grounder right before that to end the inning? Why not blame him?

Several reasons why those 2 plays are VERY different but the main 1 to me would be that hot shots to 3rd happen a lot & cant always be snagged due to the speed & whether it takes a weird hop etc.

Overrunning a routine pop fly to an outfielder w/o any wind should be an easy out even for a grade schooler.

Jay shouldn’t blame either one. He knows both will be defensive liabilities at some point. Compared to other SEC teams both are probably below average defensively. I’m not not saying they shouldn’t play them, but neither is good/great at their position defensively. It is what it is. Sometimes it’s gonna cost you. The ESPN announcer said it during the first game,
