PM’s end of season conference is going on. I’ll try to update notes as I can.

quote:

News: Brock Mathis, Will Ripoll and Riggs Threadgill are expected to transfer, Paul Mainieri says - James Moran Twitter

quote:

Mainieri: Nolan Cain and I have been scouring the country for infielders to make up for what we lost in the draft.

quote:

Paul Mainieri “does not anticipate” any changes to the coaching staff #LSU

quote:

Paul expects all of the current drafted players to go pro - expect Garza to return in 2020.

quote:

Mainieri says Hill, Storz, and Henry will take the summer off. Henry “would possibly be capable of pitching, but there’s no reason for him to do that.” Focus will be strengthening and developing stamina.

quote:

Mainieri notes the first six years Alan Dunn was at LSU, “I can’t remember an injury” to a pitcher. “The last two years, we’ve had a barrage.” Says Dunn hasn’t changed a thing and that several were high school injuries they came to #LSU with (Storz, McMurray).

quote:

Mainieri thinks next year’s roster might be a little more balanced. Planning to take away two pitchers spots for more position players and betting on veteran staff staying healthier next year.

quote:

Mainieri said Jaden Hill hasn’t started throwing again, but he’ll be recovering this summer. Can’t say with 100 percent certainty that he’ll be pitching in the fall, but it’s a possibility. #LSU

quote:

Mainieri says Jaden Hill will be on campus all summer working with #LSU’s trainer. He says he’s as dedicated as any player he’s had.

quote:

Mainieri says these players are playing in the Cape Cod league this summer: Gavin Dugas Giovanni DiGiacomo Hal Hughes Saul Garza Daniel Cabrera Cade Beloso

quote:

Daniel Cabrera’s thumb/wrist is fully healthy, Paul says, but both Paul and Cabrera believe his year was “ok.”

quote:

Maurice Hampton will spend all fall committed to football, as you would expect. Paul thinks he might hit in the cages on his own on sundays, but coaches can’t spend any time with him. Paul and Ed Orgeron haven’t sat down about his schedule yet

quote:

Landon Marceaux and Devin Fontenot won’t throw this summer, Paul says. “We discussed it at length with both of them, and we think the best thing for them is to rest.”

quote:

Slowing down opposing running games will be a “point of emphasis” from now through fall ball, Paul says. Mentions that #LSU has an incoming freshman named Alex Malazzo who is excellent defensive catcher, and he’ll play a lot of the other guys can’t get the job done.

quote:

Mainieri: CJ Willis will be a first baseball, left fielder or DH. Mainieri says the biggest thing for him is to “kick it into another gear” in terms of energy and love for the game. “He needs to be passionate and obsessed with the game and see that potential come to fruition.”

quote:

Eric Walker won’t pitch this summer either, Paul says. Walker hasn’t taken a break since rehab started post Tommy John surgery. #LSU thinks he’ll be stronger/more consistent in year two post Tommy John. That’s pretty typical sentiment in baseball circles.

The big difference is Woodward will do it right the first time.

Could have been worded better but Josh Smith, Zack Hess, Todd Peterson are all expected to sign, Garza is expected to return.

Just like Les. Unwilling to adapt or change. Going to be his downfall.

In a tweet I think he's since deleted, Kendall Rogers referenced the statement about the coaching staff as interesting because he'd heard rumblings about a change "on the mound."

He misunderstood it to say “pitching staff” imo.

This is concerning...

Any hope of LSU returning to some semblance of the glory days are over as long as he's our coach. I guess all good things have to end at some point.

You'd think after Miles that our administration would recognize when a program is trending downward. What makes this worse, is that BM doesn't even try to fake like he cares.

Youth and energy need to be injected into the program, and we need a coach that's on a mission to prove something.

Who are you getting the updates from? The two I'm following (Moran, Kubena) have missed some of the stuff you've posted.
