You probably should give up. This team - especially pitching - is just bad.

I am not giving up, but am lowering my expectations. I hope we play well enough to make the tournament. We shall see.

I'm not giving up because, well, this time of year sucks for sports. The Masters is over, the US Open isn't til June. What am I going to do, what the NBA

I will watch every game, with low expectations, and hope they can get into the tournament and ruin someone's regional.

There is still half of the SEC season left..... every remaining game starts out 0-0.
There is hope in not giving up and playing better defense and pitching better and hitting better.
Hope is a good thing.

I never give up on baseball until we are mathmatically out of it. However, I really have never understood the concept you are bringing up. Why wouldn't our opponents players improve as well?

If you feel like we are a truly talented team simply playing poorly then the rate of improvement should outpace that of our lesser talented opponents.

Marginally. Not enough to make a difference.

Whenever we have shown we can really hit the ball, I don't worry about a game here or there where we just don't have it at the plate.

Pitching can improve throughout the year, as kids put it together and/or we lock in on the most dependable arms.

Defense, however, is a different story. We have been bad defensively throughout and we aren't just magically going to improve over night. The defensive replacements have made errors. It'll be the ultimate downfall of this team.

Meh.... define "giving up". This yeam lacks confidence, chemistry, and leadership. I don't see them improving enough to turn things around.

Good points; I’ll always remain hopeful, but realistically it’s gonna be rough.

While I agree I think they have proved who they really are at this point. We aren’t winning it all unfortunately.

At this point all I care about is them making a run on Hoover as I’ll be attending for my first time but don’t get there until Thursday

at this point in 2024, LSU was 3-12 in SEC and had been swept twice and no series win

they got hot and made a strong push in the SEC tourney and were 1 out from winning a regional in Chapel Hill

no reason to give up on this team right now

It’s not even a question or an assumption at this point. I think last week when asked about how to turn things around his reply was mostly about recruiting. Aka I got nothing for this year. Just damage control and an eye on not repeating it next year.

At this point last year, they still fought. They stayed competitive.

This years team just looks defeated. They have nothing to rally around. No clear leader.

Toughest part of the SEC schedule coming up. If we win 2 of 3 in three upcoming series, RPI will soar. I’m not betting on it, but it’s possible.

It definitely needs to start tonight. But maybe not with the normal starters. I think Dardar and Stanfield need to let their bodies rest up for the weekend. They both got beat up last week and could use a day.

Maybe circle back to Ruckert at 2nd for the start and Harden in LF. Or William Patrick at either of those spots.

Something that can spark this year and build toward next year at the same time.

You've mentioned him a couple times at 2nd base. To your knowledge, has he gotten any work there? I thought he was solely an OF?

Time to give the freshmen and sophomores some playing time and see what you have with those guys.

About 3 weeks or a month ago, Jay mentioned that they would start working him on the infield to see if he could contribute there and get more athleticism in the line up.
