One thing LSU should learn is, following all the incentives for winning a NC, they should have incentives to maintain and poison pills if performance slides. No more of these Mack Brown types who bring home NC and then subsequently treat the university like a hyper-sized pension for 7 win seasons (or worse) for years to come. That $21mln BS has to stop.

Good luck getting that by Sexton. The coach typically holds all the cards after a NC and outside of O usually has plenty of suitors.

At the end of the day….Coach O will be gone….when? Somebody knows…..somebody ALWAYS knows….but in the meantime…this season is ruined….recruiting is on the downward spiral……much revenue lost….then you still gotta pay coach to leave. If players and recruits read the Rant…..what are they thinking? Orgeron sure won’t tell anyone that he is gone….O will play the game and lie and play the game. 2019 seems like 10 years ago.

EVERY COACH WHO WINS A TITLE GETS A RAISE. PERIOD.
This is nothing new, anywhere, ever. A title winning coach is going to get a minimum top 5 salary. Quibble over the details and years if you like, but damn. Pay attention. That extension had nothing to do with O’s ability as a head coach. It was purely an incentive for what he accomplished in 2019.
What you fricking imbeciles can’t seem to understand is that NOT giving O an extension after a title would work against us when hiring a new coach. Do you want the top candidates talking to their agents and hearing about this when it comes time to choose between their favorite destinations?
Top coaches want to know they will be compensated like everyone else if they win it all. They need to know that’s not a problem here, and the proof of that and what we will pay for a staff is plain to see. That’s the big boy football game. You either play it, or move down the ladder.

The investigation we did didn’t indicate O knew anything.
We aren’t backing away from that to fire him for cause. The lawsuit naming him is just grasping. The same guys said in the original USA Today article that he thought O knew but couldn’t be sure.
