Back in the mid 90's when I went to LSU, they got really strict with allowing students to bring alcohol in. On Fridays, the student gate was always open and you could walk right in without anyone saying anything. I used to always go check out the field. Once they started the pat downs, I would simply bring my flask on Fridays to where we sat in the student section and duck tape it under the seat. Did this for every home game for three years.

It's also worth noting that legally your not supposed to possess or drink alcohol until the age of 21. I'm not going to say a majority, but a vast number of the students still aren't old enough to legally drink. The vast majority of people that enter other gates are of age or kids. I do not know a single person that did not drink underage, but from a policy standpoint they need to reduce it as much as possible to avoid liability.

I was at LSU from 04-08. I always brought alcohol into the games and never got searched. In fact, I was in there half the time with someone else's ID because I always managed to leave mine at home.
Has the gestapo gotten that bad?
Here's to having season tickets now (near the North Endzone) and not even getting looked at as I walk in.

Nah its pretty bad. If you've got on pants with boots and an untucked shirt, be prepared to get the full treatment.
Shorts and tucked in polo gets you through quicker.

Completely agree here. It's like entering a maximum security prison. Though i'm quite sure the greek/law/medical gate isn't subject to the same treatment.
I also contend that it depends on the cop or marshall at each spot. some care, some don't. I know many times marshalls would scrutinize the shite out of ids and others would just be like eh who cares enjoy the game.

Same time period for me as well and this is true.. You could still get booze in by going the crotch or bra route as they didnt do the complete walk over your entire body.. They also didnt kick you if it was found.. simple toss and walk

yeah, its a bit ridiculous. When I was at LSU, those security guards grabbed me in places I've never been touched before.

Yes, but they all go through 6/7 and use the tunnel to get to the 100's

wow, I wish they did this now. I could go hide in one of those old dorms inn the stadium and then comeout once the stadium starting filling up for the game and go for free

It's only fair.

It was for some time until they re-did the entrances around the West Side and Lawton Room.

Shut up......
All you are going to do is get the REST of us checked.
Getting patted down during the 4 years of undergrad at LSU is kinda like hazing for sitting in the adult sections.

No way. They have been searching students since I was in school at LSU in the 80's and I am sure before. Leave the public alone and stop your whining.
