re: No news, rumors, ideas, "inside reports" about Basketball coach search?

I have read that Aleva doesn't want to pay more than $1 million buyout to get a coach which pretty much eleminates any but small school coaches.Musselman, Kermit Davis and Pitino's kid are mentioned quite a bit. Musselman is a West Coast guy and maybe waiting for a shot at the Berkley job. Davis seems to want the job and is affordable. Pitino is more expensive but is shaky at Minnesota and may want to leave. But at 93-74 career and 27-45 in the Big Ten, do we really want him? So to me it looks like Davis is the front runner as of right now.

Tom Crean just fired at Indiana is now being mentioned also. However he is an underachiever with talented teams that flopped, especially this year. His career at Indiana in 9 years is 166-135 which is the second worst record of an Indiana head coach.

I would expect that to mean they want to target a NCAA Tourney coach. They are just starting round one. If this is the case the hunt should be heating up within a week and a half (after regionals are done).

Might as well start a rumor. . . (I could deal with something like this)

LSU is currently in secret negotiations with former Coach Dale Brown.

. Well thank you my thread policeman! As you should know none of that matters when it comes to inside sources, rumors, prognostications around here. I legitimately posted this to find out what anyone knows or at least comment on the amazing lack of interest there appears to be in this whole thing.

Hopefully our next coach is still coaching. There's still teams firing their coach so we gotta wait in line.

"To go after whoever they want"

Is this gonna be a real " go after" this time or a pretend "go after" such as we saw with the football hire?

This search might go through the tournament.
At the Final Four is where all the coaches meet and jobs are discussed. My guess is several interviews will be made that weekend.
They have always had coach conventions at the Final Four site.

Younger coach, coached under Marshall and Pitino, won his conference all 3 years he has been a head coach, never failed as a head coach.
