Let him roam the stadium on non-game days. It will keep the vandals out.

I am convinced the old Mikes used to enjoy going into the stadium. We can wheel him out before the fireworks start. I am also in favor of getting him a young good looking Michelle the Tiger to live in his cage.

It was obvious that Mike VI was not entirely onboard with attending the games. He's really not there for the entertainment of our inebriated, entitled fanbase.

It's a privilege to have a live Tiger mascot.

He is not? What, he is there to watch the game? Of course he is there for entertainment - that is the whole point. WTF.

How does Bevo get to the game, How about the Colorado buffalo, or the Auburn Eagle? They manage, and we can too.

This was announced a long time ago when Mike was alive. If they did it they wouldn't be able to get a tiger.

Man I loved having him as well but I am sure being in a cage surrounded by 100k people is a bit frightening. I didnt think anyone really gave that much of a frick about this.

Dumb thread. Let me put your arse in a cage for the rest of your life, and call it habitat.

I am sure it is a bit frightening. But it is a great tradition so he should go to the stadium

Just like I am also sure being locked in a cage and not fed is frightening, but veal is delicious so they should continue doing it

You don't get it. If we want to keep a live tiger on campus, we have to give a little. This takes away the arguments of PETA and other groups. This is what they find most inhumane. Be glad we are getting Mike VII
so little by little you give in to demands? Where does it end. Sounds peachy.

Perhaps the loudest stadium around is not a great place for a tiger.
I don't think they the experts would do this lightly.

It absolutely makes a tiger uncomfortable. But since when do people give a frick?

Dogs are terrified of gunshots: yet we gun train them to retrieve our birds

Cows like to eat and move: yet we torture calves for the sake of more tender meat

I could go on and on. Why is a tiger being uncomfortable with noise all of a sudden a breaking point?

Eagles are apex predators and they aren't domesticated. And that one at Alburn isn't domesticated either.

That's the best suggestion, so far. I mean, could you imagine the trailer with a dude in a tiger suit in it parked next to the visiting team's locker room? That would be hilarious and definitely throw players off their game.

In 2017, taking a live tiger into a stadium with over 100k cheering isn't happening. It will be tough enough to get a tiger as it is

It shouldn't be though. PETA and other such groups have no authority over the LSU Athletic Dept. Just ignore PETA.

It was all smoke and mirrors to get people used to the idea before today's announcement.

This is a bizarre statement. Do you actually believe that the vets, caretakers, and university administration hatched a conniving plan several years ago to discontinue bringing the tiger into the stadium, so they started gradually decreasing the regularity of mike's trips to the field, and then, coincidentally, mike developed a rare and previously unstudied form of cancer, which was the perfect cover for bringing their years-long conspiracy to fruition?

Dude, you might legitimately be schizophrenic. Do you hear voices? Have you been to a doctor recently?

I'm legit concerned about you.

I'd really like a Vote: who prefers fireworks and who prefers a tiger mascot for pre game? I want the live mascot in a cage.
