Well they can’t profit if you bring your own tailgate.

LSU also bans food sales, usage of campus utilities, personal port-o-lets, drones and motorized vehicles like golf carts, scooters, ATVs and hover boards

What is a harmful electric generator?
I have one that’s old, loud as hell, and has a pull rope to crank. Once it cranks, after the 147th pull and numerous choke settings, it revs so high and loud that I think it’s going to throw a rod right through the block! I let my son in law use that one at his house.

Generators-
University rules prohibit gas-powered generators, as well as loud or harmful electric generators.
So only hand crank generators or a child on a wheel. Got it.
I know it's not enforced, but they actively try to kill tailgating every year.

WBRZ could have at least copied the part where it explains the generators instead of hiding the link down at the bottom:

GENERATORS
Portable electrical generators are permitted, but are discouraged. For temporary electrical needs, LSU recommends the use of battery operated inverters that convert the battery current to house current. These recommended devices do not generate hazardous carbon monoxide emissions, do not require gasoline cans and resultant hazards, and do not create noise that is potentially damaging to hearing and a nuisance to fellow tailgaters. The operation of portable electrical generators that create excessive noise, emission hazards or other safety concerns will not be permitted.

Why is LSU starting to feel more and more Ole Miss like? soon no open flame BBQ

Just buy a freaking electric generator. They’re quiet and less toxic.

Two reasons:
1. They want less tailgaters because over the years they have fricked up the campus parking. They have consistently taken away 1000s of spots and have had no plan on what to do to replace them. They now only want people with actual tickets to go so they don't have to try and fix it (or try and fix traffic after the game).
2. They partnered with Revelry and want to try to push everyone to pay to tailgate so they can get more money

You didn’t. You just didn’t realize it was called that. Those boards with the wheel on each end that you see adults face plant from. They are called hoverboards.

Going to install a 40' wind turbine on my RV...going green and all that
Posted on 9/5/25 at 9:20 am to TigerGman
LSU should just install permanent outdoor plugs you can activate with a credit card. Place them in all the popular tailgating spots (except the parade ground) and they would make a killing.

Clear, clear the atmosphere! Leave the beans and cabbage wraps at home.

No tents larger than 10 feet by 10 feet are allowed. The university also prohibits corporate logos or advertisements, as well as prohibiting staking tents into the ground.
This coming from the same people that have more ads than video on the new giant video board and have talked about painting ads on the field.
Sounds like someone is jockeying for a new way to raise more revenue. If you want a corporate logo at your corporate tailgate then you'll need to pony up.

Get a battery generator like EcoFlow for the small stuff. If you run bigger things you’ll need gas, but you can use gas temporarily. While generator is on, use it to charge your EcoFlow.
