I don't understand what leverage Brown and Temple supposedly had to force poor Joe into such a terrible hire.
Temple and Brown had much more influence over the Johnny hire than you think.
Like I said, because Jones failed so miserably, they will have ZERO say in this new hire.

We all knew Jones should have been gone after last season, but this still doesn't excite me for two reasons:
1- Alleva will make a bottom of the barrel hire.
2- Any way you slice it, because they kept Jones on for a lame duck season, they lost a year of rebuilding this program from the ground up.

His 90 victories are the fourth-most all-time by an LSU coach and the most by any coach in his first five years.
Seems like he's done a pretty good job.

are you serious? power can create leverage. there are several types of power. both Brown and Temple are very influential at LSU, esp with the basketball program as they both are legendary and have many friends in high places.

It wasnt just dale and collis, shaq and a whole bunch of former players wanted and campaigned for johnny. Also, clarence ceasar and other former players said they would no longer support the university or play in the alumni game if they didnt hire jones. Alleva was put in a tight spot

I have a bad feeling he'll be back too. I'm really hoping I'm wrong, but I just can't shake the feeling.

I see it all over twitter. Glad we finally hear something about it, I was scared, Alleva was going to try to sneak past this year like it never happened and keep JJ on board.

I'm sure those guys are excited to be wrong.
