Honky tonk and honkey are 2 different words. One refers to a type of music the other is a slur on an unprotected racial class. Honkey as a slur is pretty much equivalent to porch monkey as a slur since they both derived from the same racist actions of drive by offenses by whites before and during the Civil rights movement.
The issue is that white ppl are allowed to be discriminated against openly yet will be banned and deplatformed for using racial slurs against other races. It's either equality for ALL or free speech for ALL.
If I can't drop the hard R for a players nickname then I'm not okay with the use of the word honkey to define the token white guy on defense. If I can drop the n bomb then sure I'll allow it and we are both equally free to say what we want..
It's not a racial issue, it's a double standards issue.

As a fellow HONKY I have no interest in it. I think most HONKIES share this feeling and don't think it is the same thing as saying HONKY. I mean you can walk into some dive bar by a swamp and say "HONKY HONKY HONKEY" and chances are some HONKY will turn around thinking you are talking to them. Not offensive. At least not to most of us HONKIES.

Why do we have a compelling need to make up nicknames for players? I think Whit Weeks is a sensational player whether he has a nickname or not.

BS. It's a racial issue, and it's not even close. I'm not going to give your rant the response it deserves because this isn't the Poli board. But suffice it to say that this lilly-white "honkey" who grew up in the south, lived through forced bussing and went to majority minority schools his entire life sees nothing wrong with the word "honkey" and sees everything wrong with the n-word.
It's not a matter of equality when one side of the argument has never been considered equal.
