The guy is a genius in pleading his case and honestly I think they’d offer UGA the best game. Can’t fault him for trying to get his team a chance though opposing fans will always see it as whiny.

It’s the preferential treatment. No other coach was allowed that much air time to plead their case

Typical Bama...sitting out conference championship weekend and expecting to get in while teams that put their season on the line had to play.

Yep. Really glad to see the committee finally used common sense and didn’t penalize teams that had to play for conference championship games while in the playoff hunt.

I mean it is whiny. If your team had one loss and had a valid argument, then ok. But bama didn’t dominate anyone this year outside of vandy and miss st. Be a man, admit you and your players didn’t get the job done this year, and use it as motivation to come back stronger. Nobody likes hearing someone complain about something they didn’t earn.

Every coach in the top 10 pleads their case, Nick is the only one who gets to do it live during halftime shows and on ESPN’s front page. Not sure if it’s because he’s earned the right due to his success or if it’s that Alabama gets more clicks and views. Probably a bit of both.

100% of the coaches who had a chance, got the chance to plead. No other team was being considered.

How about his team was the fifth team?

Alabama is pretty average outside of Bryce Young. Probably a 4 loss team. Next year should be interesting with out him.

I can't blame Saban but I am SOOOOOO glad the Frogs got in. THey've been my "other" purple team from the old SW Conference days. Not too sure they didn't score at the end in OT.

Got to admit that winning and playing for the championship so often shapes your mindset. Not to even make the playoffs is like having a losing season and missing out on bowl games to others.

However, that being said, it would have been classy for him to have the foresight to stand up and simply praise the other teams for being good enough this year to make the final 4.

Lol. No.

Michigan is far better than Bama this year and so is OSU. Also think TCU would beat Bama 7 out of 10 games.

Maybe they would. Maybe they wouldn't. But losing 2 games in conference and not even winning their division says they don't get the chance to prove you right.

He made the case that they’d be favored to beat several teams they putting in the playoffs and frankly, he’s not wrong imo

That isn't the point. The point is that USC entered championship weekend #4 with 1 loss. Ohio State had 1 loss then sat home and backed into the playoffs b/c of USC. Don't get me wrong, I cheered for USC to lose. But the post I was replying to literally said "the committee finally used common sense and didn’t penalize teams that had to play for conference championship games" That's not accurate at all. TCU didn't get penalized, USC did.
