And Cam Sanders will come in to set up Peterson. At least that is my opinion.

Kind of expected on my end. Hope he has a good outing.

Is Mainieri required to name a starter? Bush is a surprise. Why give SDSU time to prepare?

He is not. It won't matter.

We’ll see how the game plays out. I don’t think PM is gonna go to Sanders unless he has to. With the recent tightness in Hilliards arm and Labas still on the shelf Sanders is likely now our 3rd starter.

I think I'm holding out hope that Hilliard's tightness or soreness is some gamesmanship by PM.

Any news yet on how Hilliard responded to throwing yesterday?

Interdasting.

SDSU went with a guy with only 6 starts but 19 relief appearances over their regular top two starters.

Why does LSU always end up with sore armed pitchers, pitchers needing surgery, etc. every year???? something seems to be wrong/lacking somewhere!

I would have been shocked by this had Manieri not said he’s holding Hilliard until game 3.

Pitch Bush and if you win have Hess pitch game 2.

Pitch Bush and if you lose you could possibly still save Hess/Hilliard and pitch someone else against NW St in game 2

Well if you’re talking about current arms now, Hilliard probably pitched more this year than he has in his life. Storz was already hurt before getting here.

Walker last year actually pitched less than what he did in high school the previous year.

shite happens, Florida has had similar issues.

Assuming Hilliard is able to pitch, then this is a high risk/high reward move.

If we can beat SDSU, then we have our top arms to face OSU, and a win there and we have Hilliard available for Sunday. If we drop either of those 2 games then we still have Hess and Hilliard to navigate the losers bracket.

Wut?

We have 6 National Championships and numerous other CWS appearances. Every year is quite the stretch, huh?
How many Aces have we had go out with surgery? I can name how many we rode the back of for entire years.
Sore pitchers? Really?
Every team has pitching problems, you apparently only follow LSU baseball, and I would question how often you even do that.

It’s the best possible move since something is off with Hilliard. You have to have Hess go Saturday

Good points. In general, that's the risk with teenagers in particular who have slight builds - especially in the lower body. They are arm and upper body reliant pitchers to the point of too much stress in most cases. Walker and Hilliard are perfect examples.
