He sounds like an uppity Catholic prick - A PA announcer is supposed to be an unbiased voice and inform the crowd of the results after each play but at Catholic High games this doucher sounds like a d bag by the inflection in his voice when calls go for and/or against the Bears

LSU needs to have a recording of Dan Borne yelling “It’s Saturday Night in Death Valley! Here come your Fighting Tigers of LSU!” for when LSU runs onto the field. That should be a simple and great thing to do. That saying is a huge part of LSU home games.

That’s what made me think it could happen.

I don't think wanting to have a competent qualified PA announcer to succeed Sid Crocker and Dan Borne is too much time ask instead we get this spoiled daddys boy!

Either you are confusing a PA announcer with a play-by-play announcer (like on a radio or TV broadcast) or you have never been to a live game in your life.

The home play-by-play announcer is never "neutral". If you think that is the case, then you must hate Chris Blair, and really have hated Jim Hawthorne. They were very much pro-LSU in their broadcast...as they should be.

The home PA announcer is NEVER "neutral" either. Borne was the PA announcer for nearly 40 years. Did you ever go to a game? Because if so, you would have heard Borne belting out "FIRST DOWN! for the Tigers" constantly or calls similar to "Demetrius Byrd SCOOOORRRRRRRRRESS!" I might be getting it a little older now, but I don't recall Borne saying with great excitement "FIRST DOWN, Ole Miss" or "TJ Yeldon SCORRRRRRRES!

What qualified Sid Crocker? Doing a news broadcast or voicing a puppet on the Buckskin Bill show?

Dan Borne did a little bit of TV broadcasting early in his career, but had not done any broadcasting work for 15 years before he literally just asked the LSU SID for the job.

McMakin has at least done PA announcing for LSU games...in multiple sports...over the last few years. You could argue based upon that McMakin is MORE qualified for the job when he got it than Crocker or Borne.

I don't even like McMakin personally, but this outrage is beyond dumb. Did yall think LSU was going to do some national search for a stadium PA announcer? It's a 7-8 day a year parttime job

Alt26 did you ever hear Sid Crocker? Obviously not if your going to argue that Dixon is more qualified than Sid. Sid was a legend Dixon is a laughingstock only an idiot or a fool would argue that Dixon was more qualified than Sid. No one but you made any mention of a national search. There are plenty of people who could actually do a fine job announcing much better than Dixon they just don't have daddy buy the job for them!
