That's not necessarily true.

If you think Vitello is a douche wait until you meet Scott Brown. Very familiar with him from his days at St. Johns. Being at Vandy with Corbin and ultra talented pitching is really making him look a lot better than he is. If LSU hired him, there would be another coaching search in 3 years.

I’d be surprised if it’s Bianco, but I’d be shocked if Woodward hired someone who’s never been a head coach to lead LSU baseball.

Yep! I agree could possibly be as bad as the time that LSU hired that University of Miami pitching coach.

Scott Brown (Vanderbilt Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator)

Even though he's never been a head coach, I'd be down with it. I'd rather him than Bianco.

The only problem I have with Corbin and the pitching coach is, how much of the success comes from them and how much comes from being able to offer full scholarships which in turns brings them the best arms across the country. When your recruiting classes are # 1 for like 6 straight years and # 2 this year. I would think they should have more championships than they do.

Point taken.

But college baseball in 2021 is a completely different sport than it was in 1984.

Truly amazing how many people would accept an Assistant with NO HC experience over a HC like Bianco.

Just crazy stuff but not shocked

I think it’s acceptable Bc if he falls on his arse when can easily get rid of him. Hire Bianco and he will be here way longer than he needs to be. He’d be hard to get rid of.

i’d rather someone with no experience ready to prove themselves rather than someone who’s proven they CANT do it

I was told early this morning, LSU officials wanna know and gage on if Scott Brown (Vanderbilt Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator) would have any interest in the job
At first glance, that would be a surprise, because the names being tossed around are all established head coaches.

But once you think about it, it could make a lot of sense. LSU will always have the bats to make the postseason. If you bring in a strong pitching-oriented staff, that makes the difference once you get to Omaha.

Take a man like Brian O'Connor of Virginia, 2014 vandy beat virginia,2015 virginia beat vandy, 2016 both were hosted a regional didnt make it out. 2017 both were a 2 seed in a regional. 2018 vandy 2 seed , 19 vandy won . The last 4 yrs vandy recruiting ,1,1,1,2. And Virginia was 12,21,27,17. I would rather have a guy who can do more with less. Even bianco going to supers with recruiting 35,19,2 ,35. Classes. Then you have lsu with classes of 3,6,2,4.with classes like that and we have to rely on freshman. No reason , with those types of classes you reload, not rebuild with freshman.

We know Bianco isn't the guy. His record speaks for itself. Not to mention, we'd never be able to fire him once he inevitably fails to reach Omaha because the "he's one of us" and "but he's such a nice guy" idiots in the fanbase would revolt, similar to when they tried to fire Miles.

I'm sure he's a quality coach and will get his opportunity as a head coach but not at LSU with no head coaching experience.

Not a bad week for ranters. Made it to supers, coach quit, and we apparently have hired every big name HC in the country within the last week...

And most of the Rant already wants them to be fired.

Let’s pump the breaks a little on this guy’s ability to recruit. Vanderbilt has a very big scholarship advantage compared to non private institutions

I think it would be a great hire. I wouldn’t be disappointed at all.
