New Name popping up....

You can take this with a grain of salt and I completely understand, I was told early this morning, LSU officials wanna know and gage on if Scott Brown (Vanderbilt Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator) would have any interest in the job, of course he is a bit occupied right now with his team playing this weekend, but from all indications that is one name that was brought up over the weekend and maybe why this is taking a lil time.
He is loyal to Corbin and has never been a Head Coach before but has indicated if the right opportunity ever came open, he would be willing to leave. Has anyone heard this before???, it comes from someone very reliable but I haven't read every post on here to see if I just missed it (Sorry if Duplicate).

I would take him over Bianco for sure.
ETA: He's going to get a HC gig soon and, IMO, do very well.

One thing for sure, it will be a coach with head coaching experience.

It's been less than 3 days since our season ended. They've barely even had time to wash the damn uniforms from our final game, and people can't understand why it's taking "so long" to make a hire.
Some people need to really get a grip.
As far as the hire. I'm in the camp of not really caring. I trust that Woodward will search and find a good fit for the baseball program. That fact that it won't be Mainieri in the dug out next year makes me happy.

This guy has brought in some monster recruiting classes, and you can't deny the pitching prospects that Vandy is sending to the bigs.

I actually think he could get an SEC job but never having been a HC, he’s the type of hire Missouri or Kentucky would make.

Not a bad week for ranters. Made it to supers, coach quit, and we apparently have hired every big name HC in the country within the last week...

I’ve been on the Scott Brown train before Paul announced his retirement. There are still better choices but I’d like the hire.

I’d be surprised if it’s Bianco, but I’d be shocked if Woodward hired someone who’s never been a head coach to lead LSU baseball.

Yeah, I would think the opportunity to possibly triple or quadruple my annual salary would be the "right opportunity".
I suspect a TON of assistant coaches have reached out to LSU begging for an opportunity to even be considered for the job. If you are a college baseball coach this is one of the top jobs, maybe the top job, you want. Not because other schools haven't performed better than LSU in recent years. But because few, if any, schools are willing to spend the amount LSU is willing to spend on HC salary and resources poured into the program like LSU.
He might be loyal to Corbin. But if this guy has ANY aspirations of being a HC I promise you he would be BEGGING LSU to hire him. LSU doesn't "need to know" if he has interest. If he does, then he has already contacted LSU. Plus, he is an assistant coach. It's understood by players and HC's alike that those guys may have a desire to be a HC one day. If he is the guy LSU wants there wouldn't be a huge need to "hide" information of hiring. His players would probably be happy for him to get the opportunity.
He may be a name on the list. But I doubt interest in him (if any) is part of the reason why the search is taking a while
