I put Scott Brown's name on here several weeks ago and was promptly told that I was an idiot. I guess with the prospects of Woodward hiring Bianco that suggestion doesn't look so idiotic anymore.

Take Travis Jewett instead. He’s got the HC experience

No. It still looks idiotic. Just not as idiotic as hiring Bianco.

Not a bad week for ranters. Made it to supers, coach quit, and we apparently have hired every big name HC in the country within the last week...

And most of the Rant already wants them to be fired.

The only problem I have with Corbin and the pitching coach is, how much of the success comes from them and how much comes from being able to offer full scholarships which in turns brings them the best arms across the country. When your recruiting classes are # 1 for like 6 straight years and # 2 this year. I would think they should have more championships than they do.
underrated comment.

This was my thoughts, too. Brown has an incredibly loaded deck at Vandy. Too much risk compared to other names.

This is what I don't understand. Look at what Skip did. he was an asst coach at one of the best baseball schools in the country at the time. Who says that can't happen again?

I’m going to go on record and say that there is zero truth to this.

Brown would be a very good hire
At this point in time, you absolutely do not hire a HC to be in charge of the LSU BASEBALL PROGRAM that has never been a HC before.

Bertman was building this thing from the ground up when he got the job, but LSU BASEBALL is way beyond that now!

Bertman was an asst coach prior to hiring at LSU
if the guy is a great recruiter and developer of pitching talent, then he is exactly what LSU needs...just like they needed Bertman at the right time. Being a present HC or winner of a natty is not necessarily on the top of my list of credentials. LSU could easily miss the next Bertman....and there is one out there.....by narrowing the selection to those credentials.

Scott Brown Is a aggressive hire, I like it. He's young Been around a National Championship program 9 years, Played a vital role on the staff. I like it alot more then the LSU Bianco or Godwin options.

Remember , The expectations were lofty for Smoke Laval when he accepted the job as head coach at LSU....
