So if they’re clowning on O and LSU, I wonder how they treat the UT and Vandy programs? Last I checked, both teams are hot garbarge.

I think Jimbo is very overrated. Fla State did not look good the last 2 years. I think Gus is very streaky and only had real success with Newton, a once in a lifetime player. I like Mullen but I think he is at his best as an overachiever somewhere like MState. We’ll see how he does at Florida. I think O has just a good a chance to be successful as any of those guys. Maybe I’m wrong; we’ll soon see.

Gus is a bit overrated, but this is a dumb statement. He's won two SEC titles and played for a national title without Cam.

ETA: Two division titles. One SEC.

Ok here is the question, what can O do that those guys cannot?

What makes him better?

Yeah he said a mouthful.

I'd like to know what Orgeron does that gives him a competitive advantage over them.

No trolling, Drizz, let's hear it.

only won everwhere he has coached. master Qb developer. put tons of QB's into the pros. had 3rd best win % since 2010 in nation only behind SABAN and CUM prior to last year. you are clueless. now could he struggle at TAMU? sure, it will not be easy to win there. I personally would not have went there but 75 million is alot of $$$

You can think that, but the people who do the rating have him top 10. Herman is normally top 30. O isn't in top 75.

This stuff is nutty. There are lots of good reasons for the negativity toward O. Everyone in the nation, but for Louisiana, sees it.

Maybe this season O will do a better job of staying out of the way and we can win 10-11 games like we should have last season but for O's frick ups.

Last year sucked, but they won 10 games and beat Michigan in the Orange Bowl the year before.

We can only hope Orgeron will get LSU to "not look good" like that.

There's a very simple solution for O to damper the negativity and earn more respect. Beat Bama.

They were 5-3 in conference in 2016 and pulled out some other games that shouldn’t have been close. There were rumblings about Jimbo before 2017.

He lost to Troy at home.

We don’t lose OOC games at home. Also got blown out by Miss St and he pansied out versus ND by kicking the Fg. He seems to be in over his head at times. He hired an expensive OC he said he would not interfere with and then he did. That lead to him having to fire Canada after 1 season and costing LSU. Well, he has all his staff now so he has the opportunity to show the pundits wrong right away. If not then he needs to go. We didn’t hire O to be some rebuild.

It’s easy to forget a year later though. Especially at the start of a new season. Hopefully LSU beats Miami and EARNS the respect.

Here's a good thread that illustrates the negativity towards the coach early with several people hoping for losing seasons to get rid of him.
