Gold/white/gold—perfect
White/purple/white—not as good but a hell of a lot better than the crap we never wanted to wear in the first place and were forced to.

We play one OOC team per year in this uniform. Usually one they far better than. If that’s the case, then what does it matter?

There was a good reason. For nonconference games NCAA uniform rules require dark jerseys for the home team. If the home team desires to wear white jerseys for such games, they must receive written agreement to do so from the opposing road teams prior to the beginning of the season.
Apparently no such permission was sought by admins for the Utah State game. It was intended to be a purple shirt affair from the getgo.
