Are there any uniform combos with purple pants? That would look awesome.

The white helmets look nice, but at times it didn’t even feel like I was watching LSU (could have also been due to the dominant passing attack) .... the gold helmets with purple jerseys blow it out of the water and is the best combo in the country.

The Curly Hallman specials are the worst uniforms in college football.

We were forced to wear purple jerseys at home starting in 1983 while ending in 1994 Hallman arrived in 91. Maybe you should call them the Stovall/Arnsparger specials. By the way, Arnsparger never had a losing season at LSU, went to 3 bowls, 2 of them Sugar Bowls and won the SEC in 86 (84 also imo since Florida cheated). I’ll take that any day.

That’s why the defense played their best game of the season....by far

The uniforms have ZERO to do with the way the team plays. Childish thinking.

I've actually suggested this for this week's Florida contest. We did wear gold/gold/gold vs Florida in 1959 and beat the Gators 9-0.

60th anniversary remembrance...

Just wrong. Read some back issues of the Tiger Rag in the fall of 1995 praising Dinardo and his campaign to Bring Back The Magic in Tiger Stadium.

Man I actually hated it yesterday more than I ever have. Maybe I didn’t like it in the day time.

We should never wear ANYTHING other than gold/white/gold unless a team we play on the road forces us to. Our traditionals are the best looking uniform in the history of sports, and it should be breaking news when we are forced to wear something else. And that something else should be gold/purple/gold. End of story.

This.

LSU is one of the few, if not the only team, with one uniform for home and road games - gold/white/gold. It makes LSU readily identifiable in any game. It's a brand we should protect.

White helmets are an abomination - as are the purple ones.

Now, let the children throw their temper tantrums...

It looks great and we won 42-6.

Both units are great. We can continually rotate both combinations.

You must be 20 yrs old or younger. I'm one of the biggest fans of the white helmets, white pants. Quite possibly, the biggest. And while saying that, I actually think there is some bad juju associated with the purple jerseys for whatever reason as well. But we are LSU. The gold helmets, gold pants is LSU.

I am traditionalist on our uniforms, and our gold helmets, white shirt, and gold pants are the best looking in CF. However our gold, purple- gold worn yesterday are garish and need to retired. The white- purple-white are beautiful and should be our new purple jersey outfit.

Make the white/purple/white from the last few weeks the permanent alternative uniform.

Absolutely not. Stick with traditional colors. Trot out the white helmets and trousers for one special game, if you must, but let's not make that a regular uniform option.

I'd be fine if we did away with purple jerseys altogether and played exclusively in white jerseys both home and away.

This may be the dumbest thing I have ever seen posted on the The Rant.
And I’ve been here a long long time.
