“Ask your Aunt Karen, son”
Posted on 8/2/19 at 6:04 pm to Lsupimp
As a father of two small girls (not yet of game attending age) do I want to or even think about having to explain what STTDB means?
And anyone that thinks this is ok isn’t a parent.
I’m not offended by foul language but I’d like to think that attending an LSU game isn’t going to have to force me to explain blowjobs to a 5-6 year old

Everyone who wants Neck played are kids. 100% of them.
Mature adults know it's an embarrassment and shows complete disrespect to the vast majority of fans in the stadium.
ETA: and not a single one of those that want Neck played is a parent. Not a single one. No caring parent would want their child subjected to STTDB.

Or they’re just not complete morons who think a college football game filled with a stadium of drunk college kids is the place to bring their little children and then complain about the language those kids may hear

The only think that offends me is that it’s sort of stupid and silly., if you’re being honest about it.
But, hey, it’s college, right?

Tiger Stadium should most definitely be a place for people of all ages. I’m not gonna say people shouldn’t cuss. But I certainly don’t think it’s necessary. I can have a blast without cussing. I typically reserve cussing for when I’m pissed. I can understand both sides here. But I would never tell someone they shouldn’t bring their child to an LSU game. It’s an amazing experience that I would WANT to share with my child.

Let me tell you how I dealt with the overwhelming parental trauma of STTDB.
“ what are they saying Daddy ? “
“ Not sure son. Great game though huh?”
“ Yes Daddy. Can I get some popcorn?”
“ Sure son”.
Don’t give it the power it doesn’t have.
Just say something , talk over it or make a potty mouth reference and move on.

Are you saying my dad shouldn’t have brought me there?
And you do realize that the student section is a minority, in fact a fairly smalll minority, of the people in TS?
When you mature, you’ll realize it’s actually not cool to be selfish, and to show disrespect to the other people around you, who may not want to hear chants about sucking dick.
Crazy, I know.

The words are corny, lame, and unimaginatively stupid,i agree, but the instrumental that the band plays, is the best instrumental in football .
Posted on 8/2/19 at 8:02 pm to Tigerpride18
So let's just play it and tell the fans not to add words to a song that everyone plays.
Good luck with that, but we could try

Perfect, so them yelling shouldn’t effect you and yours.

No, I’m saying you should expect to hear vulgar things yelled at a football game.

Imagine being this holier than thou.

Well, aren't you a special little buttercup.
I have three awesome kids, 2 daughters and a son, two who are now teenagers. Profanity, crudeness, the base nature of American society is something we have always openly discussed. They know what their PERSONAL expectations for decorum are, but they also know that they do not control the actions of others. Nor should they. They also have been raised to not wilt when they are confronted with speech they do not like.

Sounds like you’ve raised your children well
Some other posters on here could learn a thing or two from you.

I let some curse words slip out in front of my kids. But I would NEVER say anything close to STTDB in front of them. Ever. Under any circumstances. You do see the difference - right?
100%
It’s juvenile and ushered in shitty piped in music. This childish chant from the student body of LA’s flagship university hammers home why LA is consistently state 49-50 in state rankings.
The STTDB chant is the white-trashiest thing I know of in all of the big American sports. It’s pathetic and embarrassing. Maybe y’all should start burning couches before the games in case someone thinks WVU fans are trashier.
A sidenote to all the upcoming millennial down voters. I’m sorry you learned what fellatio is at age 5. You were a victim of lazy/complacent parenting. You should have gone outside more.
frick all y’all. Go Tigers.
