I agree, but they called the hit by pitch against Dickinson by the letter of the law. They got one break by getting it called by the book so the book also took their coach out of the game as well.

Oh they de-escalated him with the quickness, right to a safe space.

He was given enough to serve the purpose.

Maybe his three game suspension will trigger an 0-3 start followed by a long win streak.

LSU will be waiting to end his season once again.

I dispute that he was given multiple warnings.

Now, the rules say he isn’t owed multiple warnings, so technically the ump was following the rules.

You keep saying this, but the rules don’t even allow the umpire to give multiple warnings for arguing balls and strikes.

Directly from the rule book:
quote:

Note 1: Balls, strikes, half swings or decisions about hit-by-pitch situations are not to be argued. After a warning, any player or coach who continues to argue balls, strikes, half swings or a hit-by-pitch situation shall be ejected from the game. Umpires shall record the warning.

You don’t seem to dispute that the umpire issued an initial warning. It’s obvious as he takes his mask off, points to the 1B coach, points to the CC dugout, and takes out his notepad to record the warning.

People are saying the CC head coach received multiple warnings because the ump very clearly told him, multiple times, to return to the dugout. The CC coach acknowledged this in the postgame press conference.

You seem to be responding with “nuh uh, he only received one official warning.” OK, sure, but the rules only allow for one official warning. After that if his behavior deserves another “warning,” the rules say he shall be ejected.

So if a coach refuses to go back into the dugout despite being told to do so 2-3 times, and responds to a warning for arguing balls and strikes by saying “you already missed on three pitches” (twice), how exactly do you propose the umpire should respond?

Because they were hitting.

I assumed folks would know I meant to take the mound visit in the top of the 2nd when CC was on defense.

Don't tell that to Schnall he expects his 2 game suspension to be overturned because he was suspended 2 games for shoving an umpire which he should not be held accountable for another man's athleticism. LMFAO if that were the NFL or MLB he would get another game suspension for that LMFAO. Such a clown show.

I agree, but I also think if he gave him more rope, he still would have gotten ejected (then, or later), as he would have kept arguing/escalating, unless another CC coach dragged him back.

Understand what you are saying but they actually scored more runs without that coach. Maybe they should keep the rope to actually hog tie the coach and drag him by his feet out of CC?

I kinda thought so until you hear his post game comments…

- he heard the warning
- he left the dugout to continue the issue and was warned again (at which he said at PC no grown man can shoosh him without an explanation.
- and the parting shot “well you already missed 3 this inning…” seeee yah!

Haven’t gone through the 5 pages.
But any coach or player walking at the ump after being warned to go back to the dugout and says, “or what? Or fricking what?” Is going to get tossed.

It could be any game. Any level.
Or what? Or fricking what?

It is a double dog dare.

I really cant see how anyone can side with him. His demeanor was all sorts of wacky.

He got emotional and lost control.

In the first game saturday, the umpiring crew was totally railroaded by the ccu coaches/players... i am still to this day surprised the game wasn't just stolen away from us… and i am pretty sure the umpires realized their performance saturday was subpar, and they were determined to correct that disaster... so when the ccu staff tried to take control again sunday, the umpires were ready… and when ccu tried to push it, the umps pushed right back, and ccu got caught in the wave… they just got what they had coming!!!… and lsu coach jay johnson and all the players and staff are commended on their spectacular behavior, levelheadedness, selfcontrol, focus, ability, and play to make this championship happen!!!!!!!!…
