Hoping we don’t get Southeastern as #4 seed. We would have to pitch 1 of top pitchers to start regional.

Only if LSU ends up the #1 overall seed, which they won’t be. USM is almost certainly going to be the 16-seed coming from the weakest conference of the hosts with the worst RPI and not even a conference champion.

Jay is gonna start a top arm in game 1 regardless. He pitched Paul Skenes against Tulane.

Nope.
They announce the hosts a day earlier so that the hosts can have extra prep time. (I am not pulling this out of my arse. The committee actually stated this a few years ago)
Yeah, most of the hosts already know they are hosting, but for the host bubbles like USM, UCLA, etc, it helps them to know a day earlier

SLU getting an at-large is very unlikely... esp with how the Hammond bracket of the SLC Tournament played out
That said... the Lions getting in only to get sent to USM to lose on another 9th inning Nick Monistere home run (for the 3rd time) would be something

My guess is we are the 7 seed with Clemson the 10 seed and TCU or Kansas will be the 2 Seed in BR.
