It seems like the LSU folks and half of the high profile athletes in the country use Dr. James Andrews for this kind of thing. Of course I am sure this does not help you because I think he is located in Alabama.

Dr. Andrews is in Birmingham and he is actually an LSU grad. He was a pole vaulter at LSU and he is a great surgeon.

Dr. Brent Bankston is the official team doctor and probably the top knee guy in Baton Rouge. There are several NFL starters playing on knees he rebuilt.

Dr. James Andrews is the best... He is located in birmingham Al, but it's worth it..
He did Tom Brady's knee and Drew Brees shoulder

Andrews doesn't do knees
Bankston, Winder, Ferachi will do all the LSU knees

Believe you are right, although doc's who work w/ him do and you have to have a pretty damn good reputation to be associated w/ him. He also has a large surgical/rehab center in Gulf Breeze, FL. This is where Sam Bradford was treated

Are you joking, because his specialty is knee repair and Tommy John...

andrews is the best. he treats all the major athletes. jordan, bo jackson, brees, favre, brady, john cena, clemens, he even did pujols elbow recently..
no joke he needs to go into the sports HOF. he has been that important to professional athletes.

"Doc saved my career," says Brees, one of those QBs. "What he was able to do with my shoulder was truly amazing."

Clancy, Emblom
from what I know Andrews will rarely see a knee patient besides big names

Also, Lyle Cain and Jeff Dugas, Cain and Dugas will be the next big thing after Andrews hangs it up. They are both great surgeons.
Dr. Clancy is getting older but he is a great surgeon and he does a great Anatomical ACL repair which is the big thing now. Clancy is actually the doctor that developed ACL surgery.

Dr. Laughlin did my knee back in '83, and he was the team ortho until mid-90's sometime. He and Bankston are with the same medical group.

thanks guys. I bet it would be hard to see Andrews if not impossible. I'm a teacher and have pretty insurance but I'll probablly go with somebody closer to Baton rouge.

Curious to see who did your surgery in Monroe. We have a very good one here in Monroe.
