How the hell that dude putting OBJ that much higher than Jarvis.
There was a point in time when OBJ had a case of the butter fingers. I think it tarnishes his legacy just a bit. His ST plays overcompensates him in the WR dicussion.

There are some things that Landry does better than any WR in our history. I don't think that in and of itself means he's the best WR of all time. I still think Davis and Reed are in the discussion.

I know for sure Dwayne Bowe couldn't catch like Landry and I don't think those others could either. Maybe they were better at getting open but Landry's hands are unreal.

Bowe couldn't catch until he got his eyes fixed.
I'd simply rank it like this:
Reed
Landry
Beckham
.... Everyone else.

The only guy in Landry's class as far as hands was Wendell Davis.
Josh Reed was much better than Jarvis after the catch.
Odell is as elite of an athlete as has ever played wide receiver at LSU.
Eric Martin had great ball skills and could run after the catch.
Dwayne Bowe and Michael Clayton were physical.
Again, I like them all. Jarvis has the hands-no doubt. We have had guys with epic great hands before though (Wendell Davis says hello).

Josh Reed had hands. He was as sure handed as anyone named. I can't recall him ever dropping a pass. As far as crazy acrobat catches... The Peach Bowl comes to mind. That dude holds every receiving record at LSU. Why? Because he had hands and could run after the catch. He was voted the best college receiver in the game his last year for a reason. Oh and he was a running back asked to change positions. Landry is unbelievable as is Beckham and it's a Damn shame neither is up for the Award. I'd love to see these guys numbers if they had played in a "throw first" offense.

Yes he did. Crazy-good hands. I agree with everything you said.

Josh Reed in only two years as a wide receiver (his freshman year he played running back for most of the season and he declared for the NFL draft after his junior season) he rewrote the SEC record books. He holds the SEC record for receiving yardage in a game (293 vs. Alabama in 2001) and season (1,740 in 2001). He also held the career receiving yardage record with 3,001 yards until 2002 when the record was broken by Georgia receiver Terrence Edwards. Reed also holds the SEC season record for receiving yardage per game (145.0 in 2001) and is second in the career receiving yardage per game (96.8). He was a first-team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) selection in 2000 and 2001, and a consensus first-team All-American.[1]

And Terrance Edwards played 4 years at wide receiver.

Lafell must've been a great route runner bc he was always open

I remember Wendell and Tommy Hodson scorching South Carolina's vaunted "Black Death" defense in '87. They made it look easy against CFB's best defense. To bad Wendell blew out his knees early in his NFL career.

There is none. Landry is God, the Alpha and the Omega. He turned water (a not good pass) into wine (deluxe one handed grab) today. Bow to Landry, all ye Tiger Rant peasants

Old school and they played the game a little different then, but Andy Hamilton was damn good. But Landry's hands remind me of Fred Biletnikov with stick'em. Absolutely amazing!

I think he's probably got the best hands I've ever seen at WR for LSU.
Josh Reed was unbelievable as well, but he got more open than any other receiver I remember at LSU so he didn't have the opportunity to make as many circus catches. That guy killed people after catch. He was really physical. I think Landry is great after the catch too. Great heart in both those guys...
Reed was probably the best overall with everything he did. He led the SEC in receiving yards per game two years in a row, was only the third player at the time to have consecutive 1000 yards seasons at WR in the SEC and set an LSU & Sugar Bowl record with 14 receptions for 239 yards in that victory. And of course, as others have already mentioned, he had that record setting Bama game.
LSU's had two great ones though at WR this year. They're two of the best that I've ever seen at LSU.

Reed
Landry
Clayton
Come on though......Landry makes unreal catches more often than anybody, but reed took over every game. Reed was better. They really have both only played wr for LSU fir 2 seasons and reed has nearly twice as many yards. Reed also played on worse teams, but '01 and '13 teams are pretty close.
