I am disappointed in this. Probably the best arm on team but worst feet on team. Good luck to the boy.

I doubt Myles is walking away thinking he’s not good enough to play football. It seems obvious that he doesn’t have the heart for the game anymore, and finally admitting that is probably a giant weight lifted. He didn’t make this decision in the moment.

Why is everyone shocked? He was running 3rd team in every drill

Him walking away is mildly surprising. It’s probably an utter shock to the crew that thinks he’s Peyton Manning reincarnated

Lot of people over the last week or so coming up with these wild excuses like we were hiding the real truth that MB was the starter, or that we were intentionally manipulating the practice snaps all in the name of not having a defined starter for Week 1. I think the majority of the board understood that the writing was on the wall in bold letters for Brennan

That crowd then pivoted when they had to accept the information in front of them, so now they think it’s all some big plot against Myles and that we never gave him a shot because they cannot fathom a reality where MB is not the best QB they’ve ever seen, or something.

If I am Nuss and I am second to Daniels I leave now.

Means he will be 2nd next year too.

Is that what bleeding Purple and Gold looks like ? Quitting the team less than 3 weeks from the first game ?

He stayed around all these years hoping for his shot when he could have walked away several times. Myles is purple and gold.

I’m surprised he didn’t just stay on the team. Never know what’s going to happen over the season.

him running around after his first read not being open & waiting for another WR to get open.

In other words - Going thru his progression’s?

Makes sense. I saw no reason he would come back to LSU other than to just give it a go before hanging up the cleats. He would've had to be leaps and bounds better than the other options to be the starter. Good luck to Myles in whatever he chooses to do with his life from here.

Does it? Unless he is absolutely over it, hates it, wants to close this chapter and move on with his life, I don't see the harm in sticking it out for the final season.

Are they at least contingent with actually being on the team?

It’s pretty funny MB is getting a pass here after all the times this board has gone after much better and impactful players for announcing early or doing what’s best for them and calling them quitters

And I don’t think either one should get any hate, these players are real people making real decisions in their lives. Good for them for making what they feel is the best for themselves. But some of the folks here are very selective about when to signal their virtue about “quitters” than others

That would fall under Pay for Play, so no.

exactly - there's a lot of hypocrisy on this board.

For example, this board torched Max Johnson for having no chest when he transferred out of here, but Joe Burrow is given a pass when he transferred out of OSU.

If Brennan was QB at any one of our major SEC rivals, he'd get blasted as a quitter for leaving now.

I'm not agreeing with that -- if the guy wants to hang it up, then that's his call. But I'm just pointing out the rank hypocrisy on this board.

Got it. I forgot the NCAA was still pretending NIL isn’t pay for play.

This is a whole other issue. Not even comparable to leaving for another team, or sitting out of a bowl game for fear of injury that would impact draft status.

You are not comparing apples to apples. There is NO hypocrisy.

I have more of a “next up” mentality in general but I think Myles is given more grade than others bc of how long he waited around for his shot and bc he’s not leaving for another team.

He didn’t play a single game since signing, but because NIL deals can’t be based on performance, he keeps all the money.

It'd great to see him in a commercial watching a game from home like the rest of us.

Brennan up and decommitted when we offered Tua in 2016. He went in the transfer portal last year. He now leaves 2 weeks from game 1.

Why do I have to hold him in such high esteem? I don’t dislike him but it’s very obvious 1. He’s not very good and 2. He has issues with competition.

Being the backup QB for a decade gets you more cache than having the best season ever by an LSU WR and winning a national title. Got it.

It’s funny you describe it as “waiting for his shot”. When he had his shot. And he had that shot, what like 7 times now? There’s no turn to wait for at the QB position. Want it, take it.

Even if it's not pay to play I wonder since he is no longer with the team if there is an out that protects those who signed NIL deals with him.
