My main concern is the passing game

I know we can’t expect them to make every catch but damn man. Leavitt wasn’t accurate and the receivers couldn’t catch worth a flip.
It’s week one so there is time and I believe it will get better. But they need more work.
The team looks great, just need to clean it up on passing and catching and we will be firing on all cylinders.
Can’t expect to run the ball on everyone when they start stacking the box and leaving receivers on man.

Leavitt is coming off injury, so I give him a slight pass on being rusty.
Tipped passes are a concern.
Receivers dropped a number of catchable balls.. That's said, Clemson's Dbacks were probably the one bright spot for them.

Leavitt could have been more consistent but he did throw some dimes out there. There was a couple that he threaded the needle on some 10-out routes and his touch passes were pretty good too.

Not a concern but Lovett seems to throw off his back foot a lot.

The positive is that he closed well in the passing game. His last two drives were much better. Wilson has a bad drop, but other than that, Leavitt was more accurate and the passing looked like it finally settled into a groove.
Build on that starting right in the first quarter vs Tech and we’re good.

I think theyll gel a bit, but what i noticed was alot of balls batted down. That was my main concern. Have to look more at leavitt’s arm slot

Least of my concerns. Lane said it’s correctable and I believe him.

Just watch the improvement from week 1 to 2. Lane will fix that easily. Most of it I would bet was nerves and the delay. Conditions were still wet.
They’ll be what we expect them to be once they settle in. Leavitt will improve. And backup and QB3 are studs as well.

Our QB ran for over 100 yds and 2 tds and threw for over 260 and another td but the OP that started this thread isn’t happy?? LMAO

Im not worried about it at all tbh... not with Kiffin and Weis running the show.
They will figure it out and have it running like a well oiled machine in due time.

Not concerned but there are a few things worth mentioning -
SLs release is pretty slow, allowing DL better opportunity to get their hands up.
WR won’t keep dropping or they won’t be the guy playing.
A few were really close but underthrown by a foot allowing defender to make a play.
Offense is just getting started. And when there are deficiencies I have full confidence the staff knows how to work on them.

Some of the batted balls appeared to be an arm angle issue. Easy fix.

When you’re QB is an established part of your running game, he doesn’t have to be that accurate
His passing lanes are going to be wide open. Teams can’t even fill the gaps with run blitzes for fear of the QB getting outside
You MAKE them react instead of forcing the action, and you keep them running til they’re out of gas. Leavitt won’t need Burrow’s level of precision

LSU had 355 passing yds last night, I don't see a problem. You should be happy that the LSU offense looks like it can be a well balance attack, LSU also rushed for 309 yds. No matter the opposition, that is a very balanced attack and looked like they did everything they wanted on offense.

He does have a lower release point sometimes that lends itself to tipped balls. Timing will come with game reps since he missed the spring and is working with all new WRs. I'm not concerned. You can't teach this dude's competitiveness. It may not always be pretty, but Leavitt is a relentless competitor. Just don't get hurt.

The only thing I wasn’t happy with was the few drops from the starting WR’s. The one confident thing I have with LK as our coach is if you continue to drop passes, someone else will get an opportunity and Phillip Wright made a case that he should be in the starting 4. This isn’t BK’s team, where you get unlimited opportunities because of your seniority.
