I'd love to get a copy of this to frame. Think about selling prints- it would look great in my office.

How much do you think a genuine intact goal post pad from the Tennessee game in 2000 is worth? I'm the guy in the purple shirt on the right side of the goal post student section side.........goal post fell and I fell right in front of it.......Now it sits in my office....Signed by Jermey Lawerence and Rohan Davey.

I have a friend who hauled out the cover for one of the goalposts pads from that same game in 2000. We put it around one of those standup lamps and stuffed it with pillows. Good times.

Great photo!

Looks like that's the Memorial tower being built far off in the background. Look at the close up pic on page 1 and you can see the scaffolding still around it.

What are the other large building in the background?

Wonder why the section that the photo was taken from empty? Band and the hot Golden Girls sat there

Can you see the Indian mounds with a magnifying glass? They should be in the background behind the flagpole.

Awesome, I to would love to buy a copy of that pic.

Where did LSU play before Tiger Stadium.

You should get the photo reproduced and sell it. I would buy.

LSU played downtown before this game, basically where the State Capitol sits now.

As for making copies and selling them, I don't have the legal right to do that. LSU probably still owns the rights to this picture. There is a copyrighted photographer's mark in the frame.

As for the guy asking about the value of the goalpad, like someone said, it is stolen and I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Unless there is proof to where it came from, it only has the same value as if you bought one and made it yourself.

Actually, I don't have shite compared to some collections I have seen. I collect more to the history of LSU, some people just collect programs, some people just collect helmets and jerseys.

I have had jerseys before, but at this point in my collection, I don't have a single game used jersey or helmet, other than a volleyball jersey I bought at Signing day.

I like RARE items, one of a kinds and team items. Jerseys & helmets are from individual players. I like stuff like game giveaway items, signed books.

I sold a 1947 Cotton Bowl program yesterday to help pay for this picture. It is VERY rare and may take me another 10 years before I see another, but I will never find another picture like this, this is the reasoning I use when I sell something to pay for another item.

I have sold some rare items out of my collection, but it is not anything I know I could get back one day.

This. I love seeing all your collection. But individual pics of different pieces looked at more closely than the rooms overview would be incredible!

I have a friend who works for LSU Sports Properties. He might be able to help get you set up where you could sell prints. Let me know if you would be interested .
I'm sure there are some other posters with connections to LSU Sports Properties also.

I just got off the phone with Hill Memorial. I called them to see if they can help me identify the photographer.

His name was Jasper Ewing, some famous photographer of that time. Google his name, he has some important photos about many important events in Louisiana.
